What tiny flashlight for the Spec-Ops pouch?

I'm putting together the perfect customized kit for my Spec-Ops sheath on my TGLB.

I know I'll be including a fire-steel. I'd also like to have a small flashlight. I have a Fenix now and I LOVE it!! However, it is too big and thick for this purpose. Here is what I want in the light...

1. Bright

If it can't double as a tactical light it is of no use to me. That means distance capabilities of 15+ feet. Strobe would be awesome to.

2. Thin

I don't care how long it is but just over the thickness of a AA battery would be best.

3. Durable

This thing needs to be waterproof, shockproof, etc.

4. Longevity/Efficiency

If this will burn through batteries quickly that's more weight I have to carry.

As I said, I'm used to my Fenix so I'll be looking at those. I also love my Streamlight and other tac. lights so I'll be looking at those brands.

But I figured I wasn't the only one looking for a good light for their pouch. Please share what you suggest/chose.

Thanks

I carry a AAA LD01 on my keys as a backup. If you have room for a AA sized light, what about LD12 or LD22 (2012 models). I have both the LD10 and LD20 and love them. The head is on the thicker side though.

In my sheath i carry the following

Coast PX25 208 lumen flashlight

It all fits nicely, and gives me everything i need in a micro survival kit

This is what you need a four sevens quark pro AA. This has a high light and low, med,and strob. It will last for a 1.5hr on turbo but it will last along time on the other setting I use this at work all the time it last me about 3weeks on one AA. And that's useing it a lot every day.

I second the Fenix E01
those little guys take a beating, they arent extremely bright but get the job done, esp given their size
you can often find them in a combo pack with the LD01(which is also a nice little light) for around $25-$30

I have a streamlight microstream that lives in my KSF leather pocket sheath with my izula 2. It is a tail switch UI, bright enough for my purposes. It is simple and reliable, and cheap in case I lose it.

Surefire E1B

I absolutely love my E1Bs. One stays in my coveralls at work all the time. One thing I like about the Surefires over the Fenix that I have is that a quarter turn loose disables the switch so it won't discharge the battery in a pocket like the Fenix (PD20) will.

Your sigline. Who is that and what is she cutting through?

It seems to be a spoof on Cold Steel. I bet they could put 3" thick cable there and it'd go through! :)

Fenix LD10. Best single AA light I have run into and I have used/owed a lot. The Quark is a close second.

That's Jennifer Busse cutting through several 1" manila ropes.

Yup. She's using a Basic 9 (one of my favourite knives) also. I wish I could find a better quality .gif of it, this one is pretty choppy :p

My durable mini light is the AAA Maratac "Extreme" sold by countycomm which, according to the website, will run 200 hours on a single AAA battery at low level (1.5 lumens), but also has a High setting of 95 lumens (short duration). Countycomm has a number of Maratac models to compete with Olight and others.

You need something simple, reliable and dureable. I say screw the circuitboards and potential issues while outdoors and get a Peak Eiger QTC or Logan in stainless or brass. They are some tough ligjts. Don't get me wrong, I love my multi mode clickies but the simple reliability of a modern twisty is very appealing.

I have an Eiger QTC in stainless with the pocket body and meduim beam. I love it.

Ok, i wear a small one-cell AAA, very bright flashlight around my neck 23.8x7 (i take it off to shower). I live in a rural area without street lights, and in a somewhat unusual open floorplan home, where light would bother the better half as i'm wondering in the middle of the night, and with 5 dogs, gotta watch where i step.

So, I've gone through about 4 different brands, including a small Fenix (E01) and Streamlight Microstream, and some "gun show" specials. Consider AZ sweat, body oils, etc. and, they've all failed except one. A silly little flashlight i got off countycomm.com, the Maratac AAA. Not the high end "tactical" just the basic AAA with three levels. Literally going strong after 2 years of every day use and constant wear. IMHO, it's the Busse of small lights. Well, maybe that would be Surefire, but they don't make a triple A that i can comfortably wear around my neck, those 123s are just too fat.

No, i don't work for maratac or countycomm, or get a commission, just sayin'.
