What to buy with $200 in gift cards

So here's the deal: I got midwayusa gift cards (am I allowed to say that?) for Christmas and I would like to get a new knife from there. I don't know if I want to spend all $200 on a knife, or spend part on a knife and the rest on reloading supplies. Every time I've asked for a recommendation, I've gotten some excellent responses.

As of right now, I have a spyderco stretch in superblue and a Benchmade mini Ritter. I like both knives for different tasks, but find myself carrying the mini Ritter more often, even though I prefer the spyderco for most cutting tasks. I used to carry a spyderco ppt everywhere until I got rid of it because it reminded me of someone I wasn't in the mood to think about.. But that was probably my favorite due to the ergos, the blade shape, and the build quality; although it was heavier than I really liked. I find the mini Ritter to be a touch too small in the hand and the fit and finish leaves something to be desired.

Generally, the knife will be used for food prep, breaking down boxes, opening letters, but may be pressed into other applications such as game processing, trimming brush, and other activities that others may not approve of for folding knives. Never really "abuse," but always worked hard. I prefer manually opened knives and am not really considering an assisted opener unless every other part of it is perfect.

I prefer easy sharpening, toughness, and resistance to chipping over extreme edge retention and stain resistance. I'm already looking at the pm2, the gayle Bradley 2, the manix 2, the zero tolerance 0450, and if the mantra would ever come in stock, add it to the list as well.

Sorry for being so long-winded, thanks in advance!

Why do you say dragonfly first? Or are you saying to get those along with the others?
Thanks,

Benchmade 531 pardue
Just a hair over 2oz.
A quarter in more handle then the mini grip with better g10 styled finish.
0.09" thin flat ground blade to be a true slicer.
Same BM 154cm that's tough and reliable yet easy to maintain.

Or save a few extra bucks;
Lionsteel Daghetta. You have USA and Japan made, why not add a taste of Italy?

ZT 0452, that is a beefed up PM2 (imho) to be ready for "anything" over and above the usual edc chores.

I hadn't seen the 531 before, what are the ergos like? I can't seem to find any good reviews on it. Are the thumb studs easy to get to? And concerning the lionsteel, I would definitely like to get a lionsteel at some point, but Midway doesn't carry them

Thanks,

Dragonfly doesn't cost very much in comparison but can do the majority of what larger, more expensive knives can do.

Dragonfly size is perfect for deep pocket carry without the clip.

Dragonfly can carried in addition to a larger knife to be used when a larger knife is socially unacceptable.

Dragonfly ergonomics fit even large-sized hands but it's not much bigger than a keychain knife.

Definitely look closely at the Dragonfly and consider how useful it can will be. I have both the Gayle Bradley (first model) and the PM2 and I consider them excellent knives--especially the Bradley, one of my all time favorites. I have an ammo box full of Spydercos. I also have tons of other knives from Al Mar to Zero Tolerance. The Dragonfly is the knife that's always in my pocket because of its utility. So, in my opinion, the Dragonfly would be the first knife to consider. As for the others...well, you can't have too many knives.:)

Can't go wrong with the above suggestions. My choices would be ZT 0450, 0808, or a Delica and some more reloading supplies :)

I would go with a delica and extra supplies but it's just not as "sexy" as some of the others. I suppose that's not a requirement, but still.

I don't know personally,, just threw it out there. Since you seem to favor the grip more then the stretch (even though the stretch is a better slicer in your words), thought a bigger BM then the mini grip, that is designed to excel at slicing was worth a look. But, alas, I don't have one, as I prefer more robust blades over thin slicers...

Which brings to mind, adding to your grip and stretch, are you looking to add more of a slicer, or more of a tank? Or undecided?

Cold Steel Code4 (aluminum) or Mini Recon1 (g10) with cts-xhp Steel are both great options under $100 as well...
These I can personally vouch for, great edge retention, comfortable grip, and easy to maintain compared to s30v and other premium stainless steels. (With a proven tough lock system).

Another option I would suggest considering, just buy a decent edc beater blade for now:
CRKT Hootenany
Cold Steel Finn Wolf
Kershaw Lonerock
Byrd Meadowlark

Use the rest to stock up on your other stuffs you want, and then with a decent low cost/low worry blade, figure out and save up for what you really want, and when that day comes, you can even sell or trade the Ritter mini grip toward a new premium knife that suits your hand and wants/needs better... (And still have the beater blade to beat up on when you don't want to abuse a nicer and pricier one with the grimey jobs).

I would suggest to keep looking for the Mantra 1. Took me about a week and a half to find a place that had it in stock, but it's worth it. It's like a grown up, dressed up, slightly larger Delica. Ergonomics are perfect, and the M4 steel feels awesome so far.

Well just figured I'd give everyone an update. The mantra was in stock at midway this morning so I snagged one even though the price wasn't the best. But hey, it's gift cards, so I guess it doesn't matter! Now just to wait until it's delivered!
Thanks,

lionsteel kur, benchmade crooked river, coldsteel American Lawman, paramilitary 2, manix 2 or better yet the manix 2 XL, all great blades under 200 all reviewed on my channel btw as is the 531 mentioned above good knife a bit too small for me but very cool. Good luck $200 is a good problem to have
