What to buy with $200

First spend some time researching them online and see basically what's out there.

Three I'd look at, in no certain order:

-- The DPx HEST line, fixed and folder --- just great production knives for the outdoors. For fixed blade I prefer the original HEST fixed blade by Rowen, sold by DPx. It's good for the wild and everyday carry.
-- B.O.B. bush knife -- this is a good knife that is roughly
representative of the 'style' of the majority of bush blades out there representing the "Mears school" of bushcraft.
-- A good Nordic leuku (and/or the smaller puukko knife) -- what I"ve always used for bush/survival.

Problem is there are hundreds of good bush knives out there right now. Be sure and do your research before you buy....with that many good knives out there you don't want to get into a buyer's remorse situation because you didn't look at enough of them.

EDIT: That Spyderco Bushcraft be looking good too.

Lol, easy ! Buy a custom from Clyde Challenor. :) (Clydechallenor on IG) He makes some beatiful blades. He even have flippers now.

I would check out what the custom knife makers have for sale here. There are some awesome custom knives for the same price as some factory produced knives. I got my Dad a Shaerks Knives Burning Bush for Christmas '13 and he really likes it.

If ya want a fixed blade, Fallkniven's are great (maybe the F1) and definitely check out the Bark Rivers as well. Can't go wrong with either. Good luck!

Never regret the few dollars you spent on your Mora.

At around $15 a piece, buy 13.3333333 Mora Companions. :)

J/k but since you mention possibly wanting a fixed and/or bushcraft knife try one out if you haven't.
