What to do (counterfeit issues)

Well, I ran into them at the gun show up in Reilagh and had a little chat with her, explaining that what she sold me was a counterfeit and the differences between the real ones and the fakes. She said that she got it from her distributor, and handed me a real commander after the fact. I think that she realised that she was busted on this and gave me a real one to get rid of me.

Later on in the show while I was wandering around she was giving me a bit of the stink eye. The other problem was, she was the only one there that had a Persian folder that I really wanted, but I didn't want to deal with any of that BS if it was real, fake or whatnot. I'm glad that she gave me a real one, but I'm still raw about having to waste my afternoon just to get the right thing.

I also have her buisness card and website as well.

http://www.fwknifesales.com/ She doesn't have Emerson listed on her site though. (interesting wouldn't you say?)

Did this Joker have dark hair and glasses and sold mostly just different knives all jumbled up under glass cases???? I think I saw this joker at a gun show in Knoxville. He had Commanders just like that and I called him out on it.. He acted like he didn't know they were fake and that his supplier said they were the real deal.. He was selling them for about $70 or $75. They had boxes and everything, but the liner locks on those things were for sure NOT Emerson quality and strength. Those Fake Commanders are pretty common in these guns shows down here in the South. Its a sad, sad, stituation

Nope, she had grey hair, I would figure mid 60s or so and with glasses.

I wonder if it would be worth getting a booth together with all of the counterfeits next to the real thing to educate potential knife buyers at the various gun shows so they don't get ripped off and to let those scammers know that we are watching them, and hoping that nobody else falls for it.

i hadnt seen a lotta fakes at gunshows in austin, some but not a lot, i saw a LOT of fakes at the last 'show i went to, EKI's, BM, kerhsaw and spydies mostly, i guess its a thriving 'biz.

while most are pretty bad fakes i saw some stuff that ya had to look twice to be sure of what it was,

It's a sad state of affairs when Americans are selling Chinese knockoffs to other Americans. I'm glad you got a real Commander in the end JM.

Please report this to Emerson. They need to know it and it doesn't cost much to send a "cease and desist" letter. My EDC is an Emerson CQC12, purchased from a great dealer with a showroom in NC (Davi's Guns - and they give military discounts too). Buying from them I don't have to worry about getting cheated.

I've just about stopped going to gunshows these days anyway. All that's there are the ninja wannabes, the creeps, cranks, and crooks. Occasionally it will go just for entertainment but its been probably a year and a half since I made a significant purchase at a gunshow.

Good luck and I'm glad you got your knife. Thanks for posting the crook's info on the site. PLEASE report her/him.
