What to do when you get the Grail of Grails, Frank Fischer Battle

I think I just messed up my whole knife collecting life. My close friend Frank Fischer just gave me my Battle, and quite frankly I can't imagine wanting another knife. Some of you might have seen my collection and I have some of the best flippers in the world. I'm usually not easily excited but this knife is better than all of my knives combined. Where the hell do I go from here. I am lucky enough to have a Todd Fischer Archangel coming this week but besides that I think I might cancel all my other orders.

Some features:

1st gold Battle
1st 2nd generation Battle XL
Custom hand forged damascus by Frank & Todd, blade has a polished gold finish
Custom flipper tab
Marbled carbon fiber scales
Custom gold and contoured pivots
Full length two tone gold backspacer

You hear how great Frank's knives are and honestly you can't fathom it till you get it in your hands. This knife is the absolute best knife I have ever seen or touched. The quality is beyond any I have ever seen. The action is insane, it literally flips with recoil. I have some of the best knives from the best makers in the world, not to knock them but Frank is in his own class. I'm just blown away.

On top of that, Frank is literally the nicest and most professional maker I have ever met. I'm lucky to call him my personal friend. He doesn't need any advertisement, but if you ever get a chance to buy one of his knives (almost impossible) don't hesitate.

Sorry my iphone can't do this justice, its insane in person: I have action vids on my Instagram if you want to see them. can't load them on here for some reason.

Nice score, franks knives are fantastic. Almost ordered a commander from him.

I just scored my personal grail as well. Cheers!

After getting a grail knife; get the same knife to put into the safe. Carry and use the other. And if the unthinkable happens you'll have another one waiting for your to use.

Congratulations on the knife and I am sincerely happy to hear that you have found the one. I'm still looking for mine at the moment.

Looks fancy, my grail was a Survive GSO 4.1 that I know own, love me some fixed blades, the rest of my knives are mostly of the scandi grind bushcraft nature.

Beautiful, thats a work of art. Looks like it will be fun to sharpen.

Thanks everyone!

@j_kocaj luckily Frank showed me how to sharpen it, but the edge he put on it is insanely sharp so pretty sure I can't sharpen it to that level myself. Plus he would sharpen it anytime, lifetime guarantee.

I can't get over this knife, it's like owning a Picasso or a Ferrari. I was just offered $6000 for it and didn't hesitate to say no.

Thats good to know I wouldnt hesitate to send it in for sharpening. Im a huge fan of if I buy a knife I EDC it but that would be very difficult to EDC. Your right its like a Ferrari you cant drive that daily. Seeing these pictures just took my Grail knife to a new level, Thanks.

A true piece of workmanship. Congratulations are in order!!!!
Don't worry, there's always another to pursue.

For your next one try to find one with a usable blade grind.

I have more than enough high end knives with a "useable blade". But, I assure you Franks tanto recurve is more than useable. If you ever get a chance, he will explain extactly why he grinds it that shape and every mm of blade is meant for a cutting purpose. The blade is more useable as a sharp cutter than any knife in my collection. If you check my IG you can see I don't lack my choices in high end knives.

That is soo sweet.
Congrats.
Love that the frame lock side is not plain, with the lock showing the whole side. That does sett it apart from most makers.

I thought the way I worded that might tighten your panties, that knife is great and I would love to have one but I don't care what anyone says that blade is only good for 1 thing looking pretty.

No worries, it's hard to understand the blade if you have never had a chance to use it. I'm lucky enough to own it and be able to do what I want with it. No offense, but it's hard to say something is not useable without owning one. I also wouldn't of spent that much on a knife just for looks, even if I'm a collector. Everyone that has had a Battle regard it as the best knife they own, and not once has there been a complaint on the blade geometry.

Congrats, that is an exceptional piece of work, enjoy it.

As for the grind, I am sure it has it's positives and negatives just like any other grind.

There will be another grail in your sights soon enough, but when you get your hands on something like that, keep it.
