What to do with a bad knife?

I've been using mine for digging out dandelions.

Gordonk that is a great suggestion. I actually had a Spyderco Endura that was damaged by a truck running over it. I did use it to dig up dandelions and a few other chores I didn't want to use a good knife for.

However there is a danger aspect to it though as he mentioned it really doesn't lock up properly and that could really haunt you later on. Using it for sharpening practice wouldn't be good either in my opinion because the steel is so cheap that it really wouldn't replicate what a good sharpening job of good blade steel demands.

On second, third and fourth thought<<>> pitch it>> preferably in a deep river or lake

send it to Nancy Pelosi...

The best answer so far! :D

Actually, it was a freebee from someone when I bought a real knife. Guess the seller had the same quandry to deal with.
:)

I think I'm going to keep it and use it for grind/sharpening practice.

Practice sharpening skills.
New Christmas ornament.
Smash it with a hammer and send it back to the company for inspection.
Toss it.

I like to forge stuff into billets that don't work as anything else.

welcome to bf, bladesmith!
i still have all of my knives, just throwing one in the bin seems sacriligeous. as long as there's room in the house, or people to give them away to...
