What to do with left over steel?

Over the years I have accumulated piles of leftover steel from cutting out knife blanks on the bandsaw from cutting barstock. Most of this steel is 440C but it is too small to use for much of anything. Sometimes I can use some bits for retainer wedges to hold the axe head to the handle etc. I havn't contacted a scrap yard yet to see if they will pay me anything for it.

So I am wondering what others do with this stuff?

You could always give it to someone that makes miniatures. :) That's how I've aquired most of my materials.

heck you can always make do dads with em. little thing here and there. buttons or charms. carve em into something and heat color em

works really nice with damascus scrap

i ahve a pile of cpm154 not sure if i want to get a pound of cpm3v and make random damascus in a can other then that im not sure what i want to do with it
im keeping it anyhow

I save most my my scrap for testing. I am always testing temperatures and documenting new heat treating measures. Also, use it for blocking blades in the surface grinder as a chuck. Sometimes I fine a piece big enough to use on smaller project. But in time I may need to unload some to a local scrapyard.
