What to do with old knife boxes

I've kept my boxes for resale purposes. My two CRK boxes have the hex tools and grease in them so not getting rid of them. Thanks for the shoebox idea, never thought of that. I just have them piled up on my desk.

Yes they should be kept in case you want to sell one of your knives. I keep all but the boxes for my "
beater/users" that I pretty much know I'm not going to sell.

I save all my boxes in those big plastic storage containers that slide under the bed. I've got a few of them.

I used to keep my knives in their boxes in a comic book box. Now I store them in a shoe box like box in big sterlite container on wheels with a padlock. In a emergency I could move a big collection of things worth a lot. It would be the first thing I'd grab in a emergency like a fire before clothes even.

An older gun's resale value will increase significantly if you have the original box and papers. I don't know about knifes but an older S&W in the original box will go for $50-$100 more if its in its original box.

I save knife boxes. This is my 1981 Buck 120 General with its original box and tissue wrapping.

I moved my knives from their boxes into "snack sized" ziplocks, and put them in the large plastic 3 drawer Sterilite containers. I like the ziplocks because the knives can be placed closely together without having to worry about nicking and scratching. My boxes go in the bottom shelf of the containers.

I was organizing my empty knife boxes the other day and came across a box for a large Case stockman. As I turned it over I realized that I had lost this knife a few years ago as I was cutting trees or some such.

I said to myself, "Hey, now you can throw this box away!" Yeah, right. Into storage it went. I hope I don't get any crazier than this, haha.

Most of mine are in clear shoe boxes; the remainder are stashed in a giant clear garbage bag under the workbench.

Gotta keep em and keep em safe LOL!

Ha! Now that might be considered hoarding. Just kidding, of course. You may come into possession of a large Case stockman and you'll have a box to go with it.

Original tissue and everything. If ever did decide to part with it someday, I'm sure you'd make a pretty penny for the packaging alone. It does make a difference to some people, especially hard-core collectors.
