what to do???

I was wondering if you guys can give me a suggestion. I sold two knives to someone here who asked me to trust them.They ended giving me alot of "run-around" and on top of that Ive never received a payment and the person doesnt answer their email. I took a huge loss on the deal to begin with. Even spent alot of money using fed-ex to get it to them (they had wanted the knives by a certain time). They had asked me to trust them that they would send the payment the same time.I asked them to let me know if they were received ok. Not only did they not answer my email, but ive never received any payment. Now Im out over 200.00 dollars in merchandise plus shipping, and its been over a week now!!

Now I have no problem when mistakes happen, but its really rude to not respond at all especially when I went through all that trouble, took my day off to get the knives shipped to him in time!! only to get burned!!:(

well after many, many attempts at trying to contact Steve Hess I am frustrated and very disappointed, its amazing that he didnnt have a problem contacting me to try to get me to trust him to send the money, the same time I sent both wasps, now hes no where to be found, and im out alot of money!!! and its been over a week and a half!!!:(
 
My suggestion is that you let everyone here know the identity of the individual who did this to you.

Hope this can be resolved or that you have better luck next time. I'm sure that this will make you less willing to trust someone in the future - a price we all pay for the actions of a few.
 
Send this person another email letting them know that if they don't get back to you within 24 hours you will be posting this persons name here in the GB&U forum. If you get no results, do what you have to do.
 
That's a shame to hear. I'm assuming that you already confirmed the delivery via FedEx and have attempted contacting the individual via whatever means you have at your disposal.

I would contact the person again and advise them that if you don't receive payment that you are going to take action both legal and otherwise to get resolution.

There are very few legitimate reasons for a person not paying you or contacting you outside of family or other emergencies which may have precluded access.

Please let us know how it turns out so that we may protect our membership from experiencing a similar disappointment and perhaps offer assistance with your own.

I empathize with you and definitely feel your pain. :(

Personally, it doesn't matter if it's $20 or $2000 ! When someone belly's up to the bar and talks the talk. . .then they should stand behind their word and honor !

Unfortunately, I don't think that sending another e-mail is going to fix it (I honestly hope it does though).

I'm not a vendictive person. . .but if the person doesn't respond. . .I'd definitely toss their trash on the street (here at Blade Forums). It would shock you the results that are achieved when a bunch of knife knuts brow beat a POS like you're experiencing !

Nothing irk's me more than people who talk the talk. . .but. . .can't walk the walk ! :mad:

Please let us know how it turns out ! And if you need our help ! !
 
I agree.

Please post the person's name, and his forum handle, so we can help other forumites avoid getting taken to the cleaners.

Emailing this person may not do any good, but you never know.

Again, please post this persons name if you don't get a timely response.
 
In the past I have seen where the threat of exposure on BladeForums has convinced someone to honor a deal they have made. That is the only reason that I made this recommendation. If it works, great. If it doesn't then naming the person here will at the least warn others to stay away, and at the best could shame the person in to doing the right thing.
 
I agree with the others that we have to support our community by communicating. If you leave the thief anonymous, he's as free to rip someone else off as he did you.

But think about how he sounded when you went into the deal. Maybe, just maybe, there's an emergency keeping him from responding. Try one more time, tell him you will have to go public if you don't get an answer.
 
thanks guys a I appreciate it!! Im not a vindictive person. I was selling these to him to pay off a bill I needed to take care of of. If anyone knows anything about ministry its hard to make ends meet, and if this person is having trouble I do understand it (can definitely relate!!), but the lack of communication makes me think that things are less than honorable. I would appreciate at least a response. I sent another email yesterday with no response. I'll send another one and give this person one more chance.

not so much angry as disappointed, this person asked me for a favor and to trust them to send the money at the same time, well thats alll she wrote!! or it seems!!! :confused:
 
well guys I sent him another email, Im giving him till wed. the 23rd just to give him a decent chance, thats 48hrs, I think thats more than ample time, we'll see what happens.
 
You are too good of a person and I'm sure that is why you're in the ministry. I, myself, do not have the patience and would not make a good minister, LEO, or anything for that matter where I would have to deal with a bunch of liars, thieves, low-lifes, etc..........

Please keep us posted and I'm sorry that you have had an experience like this. 99% of the people here are very honorable and trustworthy but it only takes one........ :mad: :barf: :grumpy:
 
after you have exhausted all other means of getting things done. But I gotta tell ya that when someone says "trust me" and you do and then he ignores you, he does NOT deserve to be given a deadline. He deserves to be trashed.

Even if he does make good, what will stop one of us from engaging in a deal with him? Every knife deal I engage in here is based on TRUST.

No matter how this plays out, he muttered the sacred words to be TRUSTED, then broke that trust.

He has earned the priviledge of identification HERE on GB&U.

Is this person in question an active member here at BladeForums? If he is, and if you feel that you ARE being ripped-off, then you really SHOULD disclose his name to the rest of your fellow BladeForum members so no-one else has to go through what you are sadly being forced to go through. Maybe he DOES have problems that will not allow him to respond to your emails, BUT he DOES have an obligation to complete his part of the deal that you two have agreed to.
 
What is the culprits handle that he uses on the Forums? A search of Steve Hess only comes up in this thread........:confused:

How about an e-mail addy?
