What to expect AFTER Bladeshow

I've only been into knives for maybe 6 months or so, so I'm curious to see what happens in the aftermath of arguably the biggest industry event of the year. Namely, will online dealers come back with scores of new customs, new production models/sprint runs, etc? In other words, is it common place for dealers to take delivery of knives at trade shows, or is it mostly one-off sales to attendees that go down?
Obviously no one can say with much certainty, but I'm wondering what's happened in years past.

I'm new as well but it is very possible some larger retailers will be acquiring some customs. Also the forums will probably explode with knives for sale that people don't want or can't keep anymore so keep your eyes peeled for some good deals.

alot of knives do go up for sale at a premium.
Couple years ago i couldnt make Blade, and by Sunday night I got exactly what I wanted right from home..but I paid.
Figure it costs a good dime to travel to blade..hotel, flight, car, food/drinks, time off from work

New product is often shown at Blade by the factory manufacturers just like SHOT.

I have seldom noticed any big surge in knives that I am interested in following Blade. There have been some that I have purchased at Blade that are otherwise difficult to find immediately, but in a few months the manufacturers catch up on their production.

I can tell you to expect lots of scalping in the Exchange, same as every year.

Only in customs though. Rarely you'll see a flood of productions pop up because they are usually only for sale at dealers at normal prices. Rarely do you have a situation like last year where zt lotto'd some 0454s.

i'm agree with you, but you can try to find some blacksmith at your city who willing to make a custom one

A bunch of you tube videos and bunches of hype while waiting 5-6 months for next years flops.

I must be getting cynical as I age because I hope I'm not becoming dis-interested. I've only been finding 3-4 knives a year that stand out to me, and after researching it's closer to 1-2. I'm waiting for that breakout year of really great designs that don't mimic knives I already have.

Price gouging on limited or rarer knives and stuff that is not quite out yet also Scurvy is right and I didn't really think about the fact that dealers and going to have the regulars still in stock

Sure, the resellers will be doing their thing.
On the other hand, some makers will be offering unsold knives at a reduced price; so there will still be deals to be had.
