What to get for the H & K USP .45?

Yes, you want to get a 1911 immediately!!!

Actually the the USP is the second best platform out there, for launching .45 ACP's.

Not much needs to be done to them out of the box. Shoot the crap out of it and enjoy it.

(Then trade it for a 1911) :p

Seriously - you have a fine weapon there. I had a USP Tactical for quite some time (until I grew up) :D It was a fine pistol. It simply sat too high in my hand. I much prefer the way a 1911 "hunkers down" into the web of my hand.

Paid $209 for my HK-91. AR-15s were $200 each at Big-5. At the time Ruger Mini-14's were about the same price, maybe $50 less. It was easy to justify the HK and AR purchases in my mind. I guess I was lucky.

Add extra factory magazines and the ambidextrous safety lever to your list of goodies for your USP. Maybe the UTL later on, that was the best thing I did to mine.
 
I have had my USP 45 for many years. The only things I have added to it are a Glock Sock and night sights. It served me well through years of service carry. In the academy we did malfunction drill. Nothing (and I mean nothing) we did to that weapon would jam it. The instructors even loaded a empty casing into the mag, and it cycled it! Now I had to tap/rack it to get it out but no stove piping or anything.

I would recommend getting it in Varient 1 (unless your a southpaw). Any of the other varients lose alot of features and make the weapon less versitile. IMHO.

For target shooting you might consider the USP Tactical. Little longer barrel and a tad more accurate.

As for holsters. The Bianci Acumold will serve you just fine.
