what to get while I wait for the RC10?

I know a good khukuri always makes me feel better when I'm waiting for a new knife to show up. That explains why my collection has grown so much over the last few months.

Seriously. One hell of a beastly chopper on wood OR grasses.
 
I've seen that machete in photos/various chopoffs, but couldn't ever figure out what it is. Thanks for the info... yet another blade cutting a hole into my wallet. I hope my wife is ok cutting out all of those frivolous things like electricity and hot water...
 
Bah...it's not that expensive compared to getting another regular knife! I like the forward weight on it...bites deep into hard wood. The partial back edge is great for grasses, brambles, and woody stemmed plants. :)

I have had this knife for about 3 years now and have laid some serious beatdowns on it and so far i have discovered it holds a wicked edge (sk5) and it has been indestructible so far.And because of the thickness (10.5inch 5/16 i think) it makes cutting limbs/vines out of your path while hiking is effortless and almost if not better than a machete

Cheaper than dirt bowie knife or camp knife. 10 bucks, and it can take it. check out knifedestructiontests.com or knifetests.com or whatever that is. I got one and it is great. I beat the crap out of it and who cares.
 
Yeh but does it hold an edge? If it doesn't its extra (useless)weight i would rather not carry..

The convex grind the laredo comes with from factory is unbelievably resilient

+1 for the scrapyard dogfather . Mine is in desert tan. I am looking at getting an rc-4 to match. I hope the color is similar
 
sadly those dogfarthers etc are not avalible in the UK and very few forum members are happy to send suff over
 
I just looked at the price of that Laredo, for that price I would defintely get a Dog Father, or a Ranger RD9 :thumbup:
