What to get.

Yea, it's a style thing for me. I have the GB1 and recognize the quality no question. Just not a fan of some of its characteristics - the proud liners, the absence of cutout to access the lock. Realize though that these are not defects but features that contribute to the GB's legendary toughness. Not to mention that steel.

Yeah, I have some of the same thoughts about the design. It's still a total classic though. :D
 
Because they compromised the knife that was built without compromise .

Quoted for truth. Don't get me wrong, the 2 is a great knife and some of the changes even make it more comfortable, but they took away a lot of what made the original "special".
