Suppose I am nurturing a budding interest in throwing knives and I come up to an expert and asks: "What do I look for in a throwing knife?"

How can I be sure it will even end up the right way?

Are there any characteristics about such a knife that I need to know?

Besides getting them onto the bull's eye on a target board, what else is good about knife-throwing?

How do I develop the eye-hand coordination in order to throw knives properly?

Who can answer all these questions to some satisfaction?

You need a knife that has length for control (12 inches at least) You need weight for penetration (at least 1 1/4 ounces per inch) You need a knife that is somewhat balanced. This is not necessary, but it is good for a new thrower.

You need to practice as much as possible using good fundamentals to achieve good results.
