Well, I need more than deodorant in gym, so what's a good body spray? I know, drug store stuff smells cheap, but better than BO

Hi GarageBoy-

Clean and pure perspiration doesn't stink...it is when it comes into contact with air and putrifies that it gets gross. Treat the problem internally by drinking LOTS of water to dilute the cooling sweat going to areas with sebaceous glands like armpits and groin. Shower quickly both before and after exercising in tepid water to keep skin in good shape.

Carefully shave your armpits so old sweat can't cling to hair and get rancid.

Use a high-quality anti-perspirant like Mitchum or similar to eliminate problem at its source. Don't bother with cheap, perfumed, cover-ups that only try to mask the problem with a different odor.

Showering is not an option in my school. Is there a way to shave my pits sans razor? Also, I hate the feeling of antipersperint when I shower. And it ends up being my back and chest that smells

Old Spice red zone. I have an aerosol can in my bag all the time. Use it after a day at work or after my time at the gym.

Even though physio has signs up saying it's a scent free workplace, they don't mind the amount I use. It's the ppl who figure you need to smell them for 40 feet away that they have a problem with.

Just picked up a twin pack of Axe Phoenix on friday for cheap. Subtle enough to not bother ppl and yet enough to do the job.

The reason I use aerosol is that my back will be soaked and I'm not about to try using a stick on my back. I'll peel my shirt off after 90min in the gym and I'm soaked from shoulderblades to waist. Pits are dry, chest is starting to get wet. Towel off, spray, put on clean clothing.

After working out, wait until you stop sweating, then change your shirt and use some Axe spray. It comes in a lot of different sents, and the chicks dig it... :D

Hi GarageBoy-

Armpits can be shaved at home in the shower at your leisure using steaming hot water, a regular blade, and shaving cream. It doesn't necessarily need to be done each day. It is one of the most hygienic techniques a person can utilize to ensure they remain essentially odorless.

Can you splash your body with pure witch hazel or rubbing alcohol before rubbing down with a fresh, clean towel? It's obviously not as effective as a regular shower with soap, but they will evaporate nearly instantly...leaving you very refreshed and cooler. They'll also do a good job of killing germs without adding heavy perfumes.

If there's no shower you just have to resort to baby wipes. I like Huggies; you can get them unscented (important!) and they're pretty clothlike. Get the travel-size box first and if that works for you, get bulk packages to refill it. They're not that expensive in the bulk refill package.

Shave your armpits? Splash with witch hazel? Wipe with Huggies? Jeez, what a bunch of girlyboys. Why not just cut gym like a real man? :)

Well, I would sue a combination of a deodarant/anti-persperant and some axe.

Try to bring a towel also to clean yourself of all excess sweat and jsut crap on yourself. Maybe splash water on your face and body then towel down. then deodarize, anxe, dress, axe, pimp ladies.

Hi craigz-

There ain't nothing wrong about being clean and smelling fresh. If you're a young person still in school, it's a simple courtesy to classmates.

Yup, but I sweat right through it

It sounds like your body isn't cooled down enough. Try using a cooler rinse in the shower. If you're still sweating, hold your wrists under a cold water faucet for a couple of minutes.

If you don't want to shave your pits, get a cordless mustache / beard trimmer from Target or Walmart. You can trim up whatever you want in a minute or two.

I got a hair clipper, should it work? I got 5 minutes to change and that isn't enough time to cool off.. oh well..thanks

Try running the cold water on the wrists. It works.

Get Mitchum antiperspirant in a roll on and then you wont be spraying your back and chest. They do unscented although the 'Sport' version isn't too strong.

If you want something to attract the girlies use 'Axe', I think it is called over this side of the water. It is Lynx in the UK. Don't use too much though, or like the man says, they will smell you 40 feet away.

Nothing girly about trimming up the fluffy stuff either. There is a craze in the UK called 'Back, Sack and Crack'. Basically wax stripping all the bits that are guaranteed to make you hit the ceiling! And the beard trimmer set to position 1 or 2 is a good trick too. Leaves you a bit, but not enough to hold the smell.

If you can't shower in school after gym, take a flannel and some shower gel and at least have a strip wash.

Good luck anyway.

How do I do a strip wash and how do i wash off anti persprint? It leaves this excessively grippiness on my underarms

Hi GarageBoy-

Wipe yourself down after gym class with the aforementioned wipes, witch hazel, or rubbing alcohol and follow with a clean towel. Have you shaved your armpits yet as the initial procedure?

Get accustomed to this "grippiness" you're experiencing with anti-perspirant because you won't have a choice later in life. Society doesn't tolerate stinky people well, regardless of their kindness or intelligence.

Change products or try roll-on, cream, stick, or gel variants of your preferred brand of anti-perspirant.
