What traditional knife did you use the snot out of today?

Kitchen is finally done.

This last Wednesday I finished the trim work (shoe moulding and such) along with painting.

I used a Schrade 863 open stock balloon swell carpenter's whittler a bunch.

I had one particular piece of shoe moulding that was giving me a little bit of a fit. A transition T strip from the wood floor to the tile was sticking up on one end. So I mortised out that T strip's shape into the bottom of the shoe moulding and blended that nicely.

I see now why they call them carpenter's whittlers. Very handy to have in the pocket during trim work.

I used the toothpick in my pocket a bunch today (one of mine). By the way as far as gun products go I use Hoppes#9 for aftershave.
Ken.

:D I'm a CLP man myself!

I used my 09 cripple creek/gec punkin seed jack a bunch at a big pancake breakfast fund raiser Saturday.

Not today, but Friday I used my peanut to trim the ends of a new oil pan gasket on my truck, open the silicone gasket material tube, scrape up some wet silicone overflow, trim molding flash from the new oil seals(rear main seal on a Ford V8 for those that are into auto work).

As to oils etc, balistol is my sharpening oil, used on my arkansas and india stones that all my knives are sharpened on, so all of them get a light coating of it from that. I like the smell, kinda like licorice. Started useing it 'cause its food safe, and doesn't smell like the inside of my truck engine like other oils. If I oiled the pivots(No, I don't.) I'd use that.. (and since it was mentioned... while not adventurous enough to use it as an aftershave, I love the smell of ole hopes #9 too... great memories with Dad attached to that smell.)

Well, frankly, I used my Bose BP opening a FedEx box with some movies the missus had ordered, and I also, er, cut an old pair of boxers to use as rags. You asked.

I was carrying my Eye Brand Copperhead yesterday (today too) and when it came time to light a fire in the wood stove, I used the Copperhead to shave some of the Juniper Wood Kindling to more easily start the fire as I didn't have any news paper handy.

This is an Eye Brand photo but my knife looks exactly like this.

Eye Brand calls the handles on this knife yellow but I think they're stretching it just a tad.

Gotta go shave some more kindling as it's raining here along with snow flurries today. The Weather Man is calling for 3" to 4" of snow this afternoon and evening. California is not all sun and beaches as some might think.

We appreciate that you recycled those boxers and you kindly sent them into their second life using a Bose. Can't say there is any better way to go than that.:)

Cut up an apple with my Case XX 6332 and also used the sheepsfoot to open one of those plastic clamshells containing a wireless mouse. If I had looked at the back of the package first, I would have seen it is one of those new "easy open" clamshell packages that have perforations and a little slit to rip them open now.

Used my Queen D2 stockman to open up a pack of Post It notes today. Just couldn't get it to crack open on the dotted plastic line.

Oh, sorry, guess this doesn't qualify.

My GEC #73 may still have a little snot left in it, but I beat it like a rented mule today: Sharpened a bunch of wooden stakes for my passion flower vines to climb; cut some herbs and trimmed back some rose bushes in the backyard, and then put it to work in the kitchen chopping basil, shallots, 'shrooms 'n eggplant after touching up the edge. She's picking up a nice patina.
