What type brass for guards?

My opinion, most brass alloys work fine for guards. I don’t use brass much, but personally I like naval brass due to it not tarnishing as quickly.

It’s all about the bronze. Brass is seldom seen anymore on custom knives.

Maybe we swim in different ponds JT buddy, but folks keep saying that and I keep selling em. UPS man just brought me 16 ft of brass this afternoon. I go through that much about every 6 weeks.

Some of the brass or bronze alloys might be chosen by their color. For bronze I prefer silicon bronze which is easy to find , easy to work and a good color.
