what type of nickel to use in damascus

Is the nickel in nickel damascus nickel silver like the the same stuff used for bolster and liners and if so what % works best.and if not please some one school me on this.

Rotor, The nickel in damascus is pure nickel. It welds good to 1084 and 1095. K&G sells it now at $18.00 lb. 1 (800) 972-1192 Bruce
