  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What type of oil would you use for new walnut scales?

I have some Meguiers Ultimate Polish, the liquid version, how do you rate this.
I find it to be an excellent glaze/super fine polish, typically I don’t use something that fine unless it’s on a car with beautiful paint in a color that really pops with that level of finish.

It’s much like sharpening stones, most don’t put a mirror polish on working knives when a 600-1000 grit finish works. But sometimes you get a knife that deserves 3000 grit.

I use meguiers ultimate compound much more to treat paint before waxing, but I keep both the compound and the polish in my detail kit.

I used Minwax paste finishing wax on some knives and liked the results, but if the wood has deep grain maybe avoid. I couldn't buff the wax out of the grain in some bubinga, kind if ruins the look.
