@ Thomas Hancock : there is one thing you could do.
Clean carefully the stamp with alcool and a Qtip, no abrasive.
Use a magnifying glass and try different angles of lighting.
Check out if the "B" isn't actually an E. Check out if the "I" isn't actually a T intertwined / surimposed with the C.
One thing is sure, from the even wear (it's almost satin brushed by micro scratches) this little knife has been carried for a long time. I'm surprised the seller didn't mention anything special about this knife.
