I just bought some damascas from Dan Seaver and after getting it realized it was a liitle small for what I was going to use it for so I decided to make a folder. I have only made one folder recently and it was a liner lock. I am wondering what the popular type of folder is in todays market. I have noticed a lot of slipjoints on this forum. I never really cared for them but if that is what people are looking for than that is what need to make. my question is What are people looking for? what type is going to do well? Please any insight will be helpfull.

Folder type is personal choice. for many it's a slipjoint. for others it's a liner or framelock... So I take it your in the market to sell this knife... your best advice is just this... "make the knife and the buyer will find it..."

Liner locks are the ones to make for sale. They are by far the most popular and in fact offer the maker a lot of choice that can be done in style and materials. Frank
