I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas ! Did anyone get any Bushcraft/survival gear ? My father gave me a Condor 5" basic bushcrafter knife

Nice! I got a pair of L.L.Bean Maine Hunting Shoes in a 12" height, some thick Smartwool socks, and a blaze orange Mad Bomber hat with rabbit fur lining.:thumbup:

LLBean Cresta hiking boots, a package of waterproof matches, Bushnell 12x32 binoculars..... I'd say I must have been a good boy! (or maybe Santa wasn't watching closely enough!)

hey guys.. Merry Christmas...

my family loves Christmas and it was indeed a good one.. i think we all managed to make out like champs this year... most imoportant of all though, everyone was happy..

i got:

- a few gift cards.
- a doz. custom wood arrows and JRE strop bat, both from my father in law.
- big bamboo cutting board.
- a new fedora, slippers and a flannel.

the best present of all was given to my wife and I, by my father in law's best friend Michael.. he is a very talented artist/painter and archer.. over the past few years, since he started shooting archery with us, he has become a really close family friend of ours..
he came by our house this past thursday and dropped off 2 amazing portraits he painted of our boys.. my wife and I were in awe... i'll have to get some pics up soon.. he also painted a cool portrait for my ather in law as well..

cheers.. Mike

My wife bought me a large army firesteel for xmas. Last week she bought me a Wetterling large hunters axe for my birthday. It's been a good week.

just a winter coat came my way.
but my brother is a canadian air force helicopter pilot. he needed to round out his survival kit so i helped talk him threw it. got him a collapsable fishing rod and reel, fishing line(braided) fire steels, folding saw. hooks and accessories. some basic essentials. took him out and talked him threw some more advanced firestarting stuff.
hope he never needs any of it.
they teach the basics, but as a pilot it isn't the meat of what he's taught.

I got a victorinox Farmer SAK, an American tomahawk company tomahawk, a new hard case for my bow, some cabelas gift cards, and I ordered a 5 pack of tram machetes that I should get on Monday.

Blind Horse Long Trail
Hen & Rooster Ram Horn Slab skinner
LL Bean Down Jacket
Time with family before heading out of state...again - Best gift of all!

This, from my buddy Kerry Hampton. I always have a one or 2-blade slippy to supplement my other gear, and this is going to be a workhorse. I can't wait. It's a 2-blade version of Tony Bose's "Lanny's Clip" and since it was the first, we named it the "Tennessee Jack". Can't wait to put it on some wood and cut, cut, cut....

I should get it next week and have it in the woods next weekend.

Wool socks, camo jacket and a SOG power assist. Real neat tool, first assisted opening blades Ive ever owned.

Got a really nice Laguiole slipjoint from my uncle. He got it in France, stag handles, really nice filework, he wrote a note in the card with some details I'll post when I get home.

I also got Les Strouds book 'Will to Live', a couple of wool sweaters, and an Eddie Bauer mini survival kit as a stocking stuffer.

As a gift to myself, I bought a Maxped 10x4 bottle pouch, and a TT double mag pouch to finish up a bottle holder kit set up. SS Nalgene, bottle cup, and Capcap are on their way from Twowolvesoutdoor. I'll post pics of the setup when the stuff arrives.

I gave my dad a Vic Outrider, and my brother a Vic Rucksack as gifts.

A Jacks'R'Better down top quilt for my hammock! A hudson river long if you are familiar with JrB.

Also waiting on a custom handled F1 but Santa's sleigh is running late (damn USPS! ).

A new neck knife... a Benchmade 171 Osborne 'Chopper'. Also, a neat, and more appropriate, fb for 'bushcraft' - a CRK Nyala - very nice. Finally, a copy of Cody Lundin's '98.6'. Some gift cards, too. Great Christmas!

Four Farmers. I had been carrying a blue one for a long time. I got a silver, red, black, and Firesteel Farmer. Love those Farmers.

Made out like a bandit this year...

Ranger Bush RD9
custom kydex sheath for rd9
cold weather sleeping bag for N.C. camping trips
LMF firesteel
ATS Cobra pack
and Wetterlings wildlife hatchet

It's good to have a bunch of kids :)

Not much for me, although I have a few late gifts heading my way:D

I did get my son a Trailsman Hawk (head stripped, sharpened and handle sanded and sealed) along with a Gerber/Fiskars retractable saw. So far he's had a blast with both and he's getting a substantial bladed armory:thumbup:
