What was I thinking? Help?!!!

Traquilizer dart before bedtime:D What about all the #1's and #2's it's been leaving you:cool:

the old ticking clock and a hot water bottle rapped in a towel make also work. The puppy is very young and misses the warmth of the litter and it's mother. Running it before bed time is a good idea too. Good luck on the puppy and the baby...both are well worth the work.

LOL!! You guys are something else!

There's NO WAY I'm getting another puppy! There's NO WAY it's going to sleep with me, she is too hyper for that!

She's a chocolate lab with a cute little white strip on her chest. She is so darn cute, but at night she makes you want to shoot yourself.

We were supposed to get her the day before Christmas but the owners were going crazy with 10 of them, so they wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible. Now I know why they wanted to get rid of them so bad! lol!!

We run her pretty hard right before we all go to bed but it seems like 1-2 hours later she starts crying...........and it doesn't stop after that!

I would use the clock and water bottle trick but she would probably try to eat them.....just like she does everything else. I am pretty picky when it comes to keeping the clutter picked up but I'm slowly getting over that! She's finding things around my house I didn't even know we had. lol!!

The ear plugs might be what I need! Thanks Shann!!!

I'll let you guys know tomorrow how well they work!

Hi Kassi,
The worst case scenario is that will only last for a few more days. :D:D
Ian.
nope, don't listen to him, i will never go away, you have me for life:)

Get a crate for the puppy. I have two labs and both were raised in a crate. They will get used to the crate and know it to be home, it also helps with house training. You can buy them with an adjustable wall so that the bigger the dog get you can enlarge the crate. Mine are 4 & 2 years old and they still like to get into the crate during the day to sleep. You can also move it into say the boys room till it gets used to it so it has company and does not feel left alone. Good luck with both puppy and baby.

When my sisters dog was a puppy and I had to watch her, I would play with the dog before she would go into her crate. When I was ready to go to bed I would throw my shirt in with the dog. Having my scent in the crate seemed to sooth her. Give it a try it may or may not work.

Good luck with the baby!

Chunk her in the boys room. That's where it's going to end up anyway, and if the 'boys' are under the age of 35 or so, that puppy will be so tired out from playing you can get a good nights sleep.

"A boy and his dog" and all that. Good movie too.

you wise guys keep in mind that kassi is very young....

My hubby and I decided to get the boys a puppy for christmas. We picked her up last Monday........and now I want to gouge my eye balls out every night that we have to put her in her little play area!!!!!!!!! She wines and cries ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!!!!! What was I thinking? I should have never got the boys a puppy. Now, I know she is only 6 weeks old and she's in a new place but for the love of god.....I NEED some sleep! The baby is due in about 8 weeks and I barely get enough sleep as it is. I have been a walking zombie the past 5 days.

Does anyone have any helpful hints on how to keep her quite at night? Right now she's got toys, a bed, and about 9-10 feet of play area to run around in. I will take any suggestions into consideration at this point.

The Blade Babe is running out of energy and a Blade Babe with no energy is no fun and not so much to look at either.....if Jerry took a picture of me today you all would run screaming!! LOL!! Not a pretty sight!

Help guys!! Any suggestions welcome!

The best way to make that puppy happy is to have two of them. Six weeks is early to be away from the rest of the litter, and nothing is going to substitute for the smell or sound of a familiar sibling.

Dogs do best in a pack situation. Either you get them a companion so they can construct a pack, or you survive the misery until they grow and accept you as their pack.

good advice, jerry told me about that a year ago. we got a puppy, he whined.

the pack solved it, every night i chugged a six pack right before bed.

Skunk, as long as the puppy didn't drink the beer as well that sounds like a good option.

Our dogs aren't puppys anymore, but I still subscribe to the 'pack' theory. LOL

JEEZE LOUISE!!!!! I just went outside to drop it back down to a 5 pack (My wife ask me why, I say because we can), noticed my Dad's dock had no ducks on it while the neighbors had about 15 or so. Stepped onto the dock (It's dark), and a VERY large Iguana jumped off the other end. Good thing I was done, or I'd be changing pants. LOL I'd guess ~4-5'.

Guess I need some 'guana' receipe's from Ian. See smaller ones all the time. This one was healthy. Strange things since Wilma.

Thanks guys for all the helpful doggy hints!

Skunk....you are a trip! lol! You never know what's going to come out of your mouth! lol!!

I can't give the dog clothing, it'll tear it apart. And there is NO WAY the dog is going to sleep with the boys! My oldest is 6 and he has more energy than any living thing I've ever come into contact with!! LOL!! He'll get the dog so excited that it'll dribble on my carpet and we can't have that!

Last night wasn't so bad. I went to bed at 9pm and she woke up at around 11:30pm, I gave her some water and a pig ear and I didn't hear anything out of her until Tony got up for work around 4:30am. That was the most sleep I've got since we got her. Hopefully this is sign of her getting comfortable with her surroundings. Everyone cross your fingers!!!!! I need all the prayers I can get and all the sleep I can get! LOL!!

We're counting down the weeks until the baby is here. 8 weeks and counting!
I've decided to name him Skunker Jr.!!!! :D What do you guys think?! lol!
