what was that large folder knife Croc Dundee had?

I thought this thread needed a pic. Which are apparently hard to come by.

No worries. Added pertinent information to a topic is welcome, despite the age of the original thread.
I'm not trying to pimp my stuff here, but can I link the ebay listing I just posted? I tried my wife's FB as I don't do FB or anything else and the pics didn't post obviously. Thanks.

No, you can't link to a currently active ebay auction...if you want to email me the pics I'll post them here for you (chippedmetal at gmail).

Nevermind...found the auction, that's definitely not the knife from the movie.

So, I gotts ask, do you have any kind of documentation or photos showing that Paul Hogan ever owned the knife? Because anyone can purchase a knife and have it engraved with anything they want.

Anything to show who actually made the knife? Because it looks a lot like the ones pictured below, which have the same dimensions as the one you have listed for sale. Took me about 2 minutes to find these pics. They apparently come with different colored handles. Sold under the brand "Ducks Unlimited". They sell for around $50-$60.

and no, gosh darn it I don't have any photos like that. Curious, it took almost 15 years from the original post on this thread for a picture of the (movie) knife. Yet you want me to provide near instantaneous proof.

Unless I completely missed there being an actual knife brand called “Ducks Unlimited”, but I don’t think I did, Ducks Unlimited is a hunting/water fowl conservation membership organization that often has other manufacturer’s knives (Like Case, Schrade, and I’m sure many others) emblazoned with their logo and which are sold to/appeal to their members.

You don't have to prove anything.

But you did say the knife was given to Paul Hogan, and you're selling it, for a very high price, using his name. It also looks like you're using this thread to advertise the knife for sale.

I don't think it's unreasonable to inquire if there is anything whatsoever to indicate that Paul Hogan ever actually received or owned the knife.

You're right. Ducks Unlimited is a conservation group, not a knife brand.

that knife looks pretty cool, that looks like something lynn thompsons cold steel should have created, i would love a massive traditional bowie lockback folder like that made with quality materials

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to besmirch your point, just that a search of Ducks Unlimited knives will generate a bazillion results from a lot of brands. That particular knife reminds me of Frost/Parker-like offerings.

No problem whatsoever. I never felt besmirched :).

I have no idea who makes the knife, they have no markings. And from my experience that's never a good sign.
