What was your first Becker, and why did you choose it? Post a pic, too.

My first Becker was the BK14. I was looking for a great camp knife and kept coming across BK&T mentioned and they looked like exactly what I wanted. However, I'd bought so many other knives for this purpose that were garbage, I chickened out on the BK9 and decided to buy the BK14 first to be able to judge the brand's quality. I do this with a lot of things, actually. I figure if the cheap items are quality, the high end is going to be just as good, if not better. My wife laughs, because the first time I go into any coffee shop, I'm ordering either dark coffee (black) or espresso. If their base sucks, everything else is going to.

Anyway, I got the 14 in and the next week I ordered a 10 and a 13. They've flowed in pretty steady from there.

Here's some pics from the first day I had it until I eventually got rid of this one:

My first was a7, I was on the search to replace a CS SRK CV i had just sold. I had others to fill the under 6" catagory but didnt want a rat6 as that was equivelant to what i just sold, enter the bk7..

Standard 11 for me. The story has been told by me before, but my dad bought a 2, I fell in love with it, went searching for more info, found this site, and bought an 11. The rest is history.

Did you hack that tree down with the BK2??? Awesome! :)

BK2 was my first followed by a BK14. I needed a good fixed blade knife for the outdoors (I'm an avid backpacker) and after looking at the USMC Kabar I decided, based on reviews and posts on this forum, that the stronger better suited knife for my needs was a Becker. And 2 years and 7 Beckers later I think I made the right choice ;)

Above all else what drew me in to Beckers the most was all the pictures of customized blades on this forum and being a perpetual tinker/fiddler my eyes lit up with all the potential new mod projects.

My BK2 is a heavy user. It currently needs a little TLC...
