What was your first SAK?

It was a Wenger, so long ago I don't recall the model name. It had scissors, but I am not sure about the whole tool set. It was a huge upgrade from my previous Kamp King.

It was a Swiss Champ I bought when visiting Germany. Somebody stole it.

two blade red metal scales -used to carry it at school for peeling oranges & such-we all had one. vic.1980

What was your first Swiss Army Knife?

My first SAK was a Camper that was bought in a knife shop in New York City when I was like 8 years old.

mine was a camper as well...it took a fair beating, after snapping a blade I dunno what became of it...I traded for it at school lol

Camper for me. I remember having my mother order it for me from the Service Merchandise catalog in the mid-80's. It seemed like a long wait until it showed up on the doorstep one afternoon. This was my first "real" knife (I remember was souvenir/junk knives before the Camper).

I remember having my mother order it for me from the Service Merchandise catalog in the mid-80's.

Sounds familiar. :) My first SAK was an Explorer from Service Merchandise. I was about 13 and my grandfather told my mom to get me any knife I wanted for my birthday. We were at SM and she let me choose. I remember standing at the case drooling and it came down to a Victorinox Explorer or a Buck 703 stockman. I went with the SAK and carried it until some @#$%&#$ stole it from my dorm room my freshman year of college.

My first SAK was a red Spartan when I was 12 or 13. I EDC'd that Spartan for over 20 years, had the scales replaced once (for free!) and got a free upgrade, as the new scales came with tweezers and toothpick.

I carry a Tinker or Super Tinker every day unless I am using my one-Hand Trekker. The OHT is so big that I use it less, preferring to use a Tinker plus a locking folder in another pocket.

My dad bought me a Deluxe Tinker when I was 12. I remember that being my only knife for years and years. I also remember wanting a locking knife for many years as well. Got that covered now :)

First SAK type knife (first knife ever) - Sharp Materhorn @5yrs old
First Victorinox - red Classic as a gift
First Victorinox that I paid for - red Spartan
First knife I bought when I legally could - black Vic Executive

My first sak was a climber that I got as part of a trade that I made with a fellow forum member. This happened just a few days before Christmas. For Christmas that year my mother gave me a tinker.
I still have the tinker, not sure where the cliimber went off to. I should probably replace it. It was my first sak.:D
I now own 18 saks and carry one, sometimes two, everyday. Before I got my first one I thought that they were a novelty item or trinket. Now I'm not sure how I got along with out them.

I owned several Camillus BSA knives before my 1st SAK. It was a Wenger with BSA etchings. It had the pak-lock feature and I believe scissors, but no saw. (It could be the opposite, I'm not sure). It also had the short chain attached in lieu of the regular keyring. This was the early-mid 80s. I have no idea what happened to it and wish I could find another one. The only Wengers I have seen have been World of Scouting models, not BSA. Cool, but not what I am looking for. Sorry, got off track a little.

My first SAK was a Wenger Director. Never carried it but now I have a VIC Pioneer Harvester and Vic Pioneer Pruner that I do carry. Gave a nephew a Vic Tinker Deluxe for his first pocket knife.

In 1993 I bought my first true SAK, a Victorinox Handyman through my friends dad who was traveling to Switzerland. He brought it back and I still have that tool! I attached a Maglite Solitare and they are both in a velcro closure horizontal carry belt sheath.

My first SAK was a DAK Soldier, issued to me when in mandatory army service.

Brought the knife home with me after and carried it on and off until I lost it somehow.

After a long period of collecting Spyderco's in full Spyderedge I remembered how useful that Soldier was, so now I'm carrying a 2008 Alox Soldier

My first SAK was a Hiker. Found in a parking lot at my MIL's apartment building. Never had one as a kid, always had other kind of folders. My kid thou they both have lumberjacks (Alox by +B). My Older boy has a Minichamp and I think that was the first one I gave him.

my first SAK is swiss champion include sheaths which i bought in 1989 after i graduate from junior high school. i still use it until today

Minichamp (old style). I was playing darts at a bar with my dad and my grandfather came over. After a few minutes he asked me if i wanted to go to the military surplus store next door so i glady said yes. After looking around i was drawn to the knife counter and i don't think i left it. So he asked if i wanted one and i said sure. not wanting to both empty his wallet and be found out by my parents, i chose the minichamp. Well, i couldn't hide it from my dad, it was too cool! So anyways, everyone found out i had it because i was too excited to keep it hidden, i got to keep it and i still have it today.
