What was your first slipjoint pattern...

and have you stuck with it?
My very first "traditional" folder was my old "offical Boy Scout pocket knife". It was a cheap thing, and I lost it years ago during one of my moves.

The oldest slipjoint I still have in my possesion is a Schrade Trapper pattern knife I bought new probably 20 years ago. It's ridden in my pocket for many outdoors excursions until I started collecting knives more seriously and it got kind of displaced by all the newer toys in my knife drawer. ;)

My first was a SAK, as I'm sure it was for many, but the first slippy I actually bought for myself was a MOP Case center swell jack a couple of years ago. I'd had many antiques that I'd either found or been given up until then, though.

Mine was a Case 35 1/2. I have a real sentimental attachment to it, but haven't found the need to get another.

It was a hardware store barlow with a main clip blade and a small pen blade. I was only about 10 and abused that knife. I wish I still had it though.

My first one was an SAK. It was followed by an early 1950s vintage Imperial that I believe is a 2-blade jack. Almost immediately after I got my Buck medium stockman (I actually intended to buy that before the jack...)

The first I can remember was a mid 80s Victorinox Champ. I lost or had this knife stolen from me sometime around 1992-3.

Around the same time I also had an 80s era Case medium stockman. I gave it to my uncle as a gift about 3 years ago.

I also had a couple of Pakistani Buck 110 knockoffs just like about all kids that grew up around that time in the southern US. I still have some very small lockbacks of the same style.

I continue to like stockman patterns but have a vintage Camillus now as well as several of my paternal grandad's old stockman. I still like Vics also, but only own a few and no large boatweights like the Champ. As far as traditionals go, I tend toward sodbusters and stockman but am starting to try to diversify a little.

My first traditional slippie besides a SAK was a Boker copperhead. It is a neat pattern, but I have not stuck with it. I've come to prefer the large blade/pen blade configuration.

Oldtimer stockman that my grandpa gave me when I was about 10 (23 years ago). I really wish I knew where it went.
