What was your gateway drug?

I had accumulated knives for a while, but CRK was the one that opened a vein for me. I bought his SA knives when I could find them.

I carried a Buck 503 for a long time before losing it so then I picked up a Spyderco Chicago online cause I wanted a pocket clip. I liked it so much I figured I'd check out what else was out there so a quick visit here... and then boker and then benchmade and then Ontario and then Rockstead.... Who knows what's next

Always had a flashlight addiction, gave up that habit a few years ago and focused on career oriented stuff. Owned 1 knife, a Buck Mini Taclite, always loved it, carried it for over a decade, and never thought I needed another knife. I always knew there was a knife community similar to candlepowerforums, where like minded knutjobs could go to get their jollies, but told myself "the last thing my bank account needs is another hobby". Well, now I have my own company and I can buy myself something nice on the occasion, so I took the leap and bought a British Racing Green Delica in ZDP-189. I loved this knife but decided to give it to a friend as a token of good luck in his acting career...still miss that thing. It was either going to be that or a mini grip, but since then I have purchased the mini grip and 8 other awesome knives. It's a progressive sickness that I will probably never overcome!

Mine was gerber (ripstop). First saw it, thought it was the coolest design from the stock solid (insert color here) rectangular handle that 99% or knives have. Little did I know that it was terrible lol.

Decided to go all out and upgrade to the buy tighe, which imho is the best looking, best made, most unique folder at a reasonable price (discounted thankfully). Haven't seen any knife now that I would rather have, even rockstead (mirror polish with scratches is quite ugly, but the knife brand knew is legendary, which I fully believe).

I would rather have one epic expensive knife than 10 mid priced ones. To each their own, though.

SOG Flash II. Carried that thing everyday for 3 years. Found this forum and it was all over.

Funny, I thought my Flash II was the Queen's knees til I lost it at work. That was a gloomy day. Then my mom, being the awesome lady she is, bought me another one for Christmas...then I lost it at work as well 2 years later. My knife hunt lead me here and I've been a fiend ever since.

A Case trapperlock in worn red bone. All downhill from there. The wife got it for me so she have something she could buy for me for birthdays/holidays, but it got so out of hand so quickly she has no idea what to get now.

Buck 110 for me, which lead me to getting a manix 2, & it's been a slippery slope ever since.
