Does anyone else just find watches too big these days? Seems like every design I find attractive has a massive face.

Personally I do not but some people do.
My wrist measures about 7 1/4" and I like watches in the 42mm diameter or slightly larger. There are a lot of people who don't want anything larger than 40mm. For reference the standard Rolex submariner is (or was) 40mm. I'm not that big of a person but compared to other watches I wear the Rolex seems a bit dainty.

seems like when rolex did it, it made it trendy. when they did it with a sub decades ago. I'd say they got it into the mainstream.

many companies did green bezels and dials back in the 70s and dials even way further back, so it's not a new thing. it's a trend that comes and goes.

I feel it's long past over from being the thing to get. I don't mind companies still making them though. no harm in choices.

magnum pi wore a Chronosport Sea Quartz 30 first two years of the show. which made sense as they were popular with scuba divers and navy seals in the early 80s period. 300m quartz dive watch for lower dollars made them very popular back then. later seasons he switched to the pepsi rolex gmt master 2 watch.

this citizen promaster ny0084 xx diver is very subtle though..same watch today without getting the green bezel to show up.....

It was too big for me

The description indicated it was a 44mm case. After seeing how big it was (see above), I looked up the model number on the manufacturer's site and found that the model number and image were those of the 48mm version.

Edited to add: a couple of pics I took before returning - solo, and next to a 41.5mm case (plastic and rags still on)

yep. almost looks like a dashboard timer. agree on it being too big. 44mm would have made it perfect for the style of it. 48mm just looks too big to be comfortable.
