I own Invictas, Casios, Timex Iron Man, Seikos. But the only ones I wear are 2 Seiko Flightmasters, gold, one from the late 80s or early nineties, and one from the 2000s.
I also service watches. So, if I run into something worthwhile in inoperable condition, I can just make a few calls and find out if parts are available.
After I get a nicer watch back to like new, I wear it for a while, and then sell it. For most watches that sell for under $2000, a replacement calibre can be had for < $100.
Some decent watchmakers don't manufacture any of their own calibres. Seiko probably manufactures more calibres than any other company. What it can put into a $45 calibre (wholesale) is phenomenal. Most will work perfectly for 30-40 years, without service, save batteries if it's a quartz.
