Feeling nostalgic the other night, I tracked down the exact model of Swatch I had in the 5th grade ('86-'87), and due to the condition my condition was in decided to pull the trigger. It's just a non-working dealer sample, but it's in pristine NOS condition. Not sure if I'll try to source parts and donors to make it functional, or just admire it as is, but either way I'm pretty stoked to have it.

Agreed, I think that's what I've settled on doing. After a little research and one attempted purchase it seems apparent that the materials these were made of tend to crumble and be deteriorated after all these years. I think I'll just appreciate this one as a keepsake for now.I see that the preference for variety of color didn't fade away along the years.
That's a nice watch and memento. I think I'd just keep it as is and maybe try to get another one for use... but that's just me!

And yea, it's funny, for all of my changes in style over the years I still tend to revert back to what appealed to me in elementary school growing up in a Florida beach town that was also rural. Still love the funky 80's surf colors, and I still love camo. Hell, I often even mix the two. Luckily I've been able to make it work for me and it's become a bit of a signature look.
That is a great photo. Great color, contrast and composition. Reminds me of the kind you might see occupying the entire back cover of a magazine - even space in the top area for the selling caption.Mudman on the beachView attachment 2946655
