What watch do you wear?

I returned to Okinawa from a TDY in Thailand, where I bought two Fake Gold Rolex ladies watches for my two daughters. The did not like them, and I started thinking what was I thinking about? Give them something that might get them robbed off post? I went to the PX and bought two little pink Casio watches, they loved them! John

This one today. Date Just 41 from around 2017 (?). Unfortunately it is loosing time again. Currently around about 6 seconds a day. Seems to be a known issue with this movement - low amplitude. (Rolex forum has an exhaustive thread on it). Rolex won’t admit anything however and the local dealer says to not believe the internet 🤔Had serviced once for same issue after about two years ownership. Went about two more years before losing time again. Service intervals should be 5 years at a minimum and realistically closer to 10.

I will put off getting serviced again for a while and just set it a min or two fast. I usually rotate through 4 watches and usually wear each anywhere from a few days to a few weeks so end up resting correct time anyway.

Funny thing is when new and after service was stupid accurate as in a second a day max.

only watches I've ever owned that ran slow was a Tudor and a rolex and some seikos...but those get a pass as they were budget ones, not high priced ones.

anyways.....both ran slow in all positions. i was told it still meets their specs but i highly dislike a slow watch. needless to say im not crazy to buy another Rolex or Tudor due to my experiences with both.

My Zodiac runs noticeably slow. Everything else runs fast, with Citizen the fastest followed by Seiko.

I only have the one Tudor but it runs really well. I sent it at the time change on Nov 2 and as of just now it's 5 seconds slow.

buy enough watches from any brand as i have over decades and you'll get fast, good or slow.....I was more annoyed with Rolex and tudors attitude along with their price points for what i got. that's kinda my position on them. others bought one, have a great experience. that's awesome. wish I did with them.

Which Rolexes and Tudors did you have so I can judge you?

Mine ran great than dropped off rapidly to 6-7 seconds slow. Ran for over a year at damn near a second a day. Would be off a couple of seconds after several days when new and after service. My only Rolex for what it’s worth. Is the 32xx movements that are in question. apparently - will fix again and some point and hope they have it sorted by then.
They have sold millions at this point so I don’t know what to think but mine was not normal.

Seems like from the poling at Rolex forums effected about 30% of responders over a couple year period (is under watch tech sub there). No idea on the black bays (similar movement etc.?) but they are attractive pieces.

Seems like some watches come from factory fast like my Breightling Superocean but slow with use. On the other hand the Oris aquis that I handed down to my daughter and is in need of service is speeding up 🤷‍♂️. Is around 13 and has never been serviced. Strange.

What do I know though these mechanical are light years more complex than knives and I barley have knives figured out 😆

I haven't had good luck with rolex and tudor. more their bad attitude than the quality. for reference. I own many brands. even higher end brands like ap, patek and vc...

since my pal danke42 likes proof......here they are.....20220305_092621.jpg20221029_184359.jpg20221029_184001.jpg20221029_183927.jpg

many others have had great results and I dont doubt that. their quality is usually very good. so my opinions are biased on my 2.
