What watch do you wear?

This is a good thread to learn about watches. Appreciate it. I’ve been wearing this Swiss Watch Company Bunker for 4 years. I wanted a watch with great lume. The 41mm titanium case looked good to me, at 10mm it’s thin. It’s held up great. The Sellita movement is still ticking. It’s only off a couple of minutes or so a month. I believe SWC does some in house regulation. I am happy with my purchase.

I figure it’s time to get a new watch. I have never had a dive watch. I’m getting the Glycine Combat Sub Ceramic. I went with grey to match the hair I have left. I don’t dive but I can use the bezel to tell me when to check on my laundry.

Here’s my good bang for the buck Bunker along with an Albers Lambsfoot.

25 ish years ago my Dad’s watch died, I gave him my new Seiko 5 Automatic off of my wrist. It was the only wrist watch I had, and had been a luxury purchase for myself. But he needed it more than I did.

When he died, my Mom gave it to my young son. He wore it sparingly, and eventually out grew the band.

I saw them go on sale recently and bought 3 of them, one for each son and one for myself.

Nothing too fancy, but a solid practical watch.

Funny story, I was with my Dad working on something and had an appointment. I kept asking him for the time. I asked him how close he was? To telling me to “get your own watch!” (I knew he was biting his tounge.)

His reply? “This IS your watch!”

I had completely forgotten I had given it to him.

Thank you sir! He is very “of his generation.” He was awarded this watch as an academic prize in medical school the year before I was born. He wore it every day as his only watch for 40 years. Never had it serviced. He stopped wearing it when it stopped running. I got it serviced and put a new leather strap on it for his 80th birthday present. Plug for Omega quality: it only needed a new mainspring and a new crystal. He put on once, then gave it to me to wear. He said I’m retired; I don’t need a watch any more!
