our knife making workshop is located inside the wherehouse of my small business.

We make knives and getting together with freinds 3 - 4 days a week.
Since all of us who do knife making have regular and permanent works differently and we do not making knives all the timethen it is a hobby that making some small income.
This knife making is sometimes seriuos and actually kind of hard work but most who come to our workshop , they come and do knife making as relaxation.

This is how we kmake knives:

I have seen pics of your knives before. They are very nice. So is your workshop. Makes me want to come to Thailand, take Muay Thai, and hang out/make knives. I'm sure we would have lots of fun.

Dick, great looking knives, great shop, and great cutting skills :D. I love pictures of people's shops and machines. You've got a lot of great equipment.

Zap, what you're looking at is something that approximates a surface grinder, and it is a great idea the way Dick set it up. The grinder is fixed, while the knife is held in a magnetic chuck on a multi-axis machining table that moves the blade under the belt. It is for creating a true flat and for precisely controlling thickness.

Dick, how do you adjust the knife against the belt vertically to bring the knife in contact or change the grinding thickness?

I saw that sudo surface grinder and immediately went looking to see if I could make one. I could do it but it just may be easier to buy a decent used one and not much more expensive:(

edit: I think that the table the grinder is on moves up and down, it looks like some sort of mechanism under it with the shiny smooth rods

I try to find some old pics of the lower table but still cannot find.
Perhaps showing this one is ok.

The Magnetic Chuck level is fixed.
The level of grinder is adjustable.
I used all junk equipment to make this one.

Regarding to this grinder I used to post here but some how the limitation of Internet Tool in this webboard do not allow me to search through my old post and perhaps you could try by yourself.
