What will be the model receiving all the chatter in 2010?

More orange G-10 models (Orange G-10 FFG Manix 2 anyone?), Tip-up carry for the Military and Para, and an RIL Caly 4, 3.25" S90V with screw construction in orange G-10. (OK, the last one is on my dream list anyway.)

Oh YES!

I'm right with you!

I think that this year we are going to see Spyderco's Hawkbills take a giant leap. With the intro of the H-1 Spyderhawk I'm already seeing a newly spurred interest in Hawkbills that I had never seen up to this point.

Hawkbills and H-1 blade steel have already proven to be the perfect union considering some of the harsh environment jobs that Hawkbills have traditionally been used for.

I'm certainly in no way taking away from the Manix II or the Ti Military but I do think that the H-1 Spyderhawk will be getting a lot of attention especially with all the new found interest in the subject of "survival".

Now with conventional blades I sure hope that they make the Ti Military in some of the very top notch blade steels like D-2, M-4 or even S90V.

I am big Byrd fan. I can't even guess what might be coming, but I would like to see a fully serated Cara Cara--a poor man's version of their Police model. It seems Spyderco might be able to come out with a few new byrds.

The list is almost endless and in the last quarter of 2009 we are still getting some crazy blades.

In terms of mile-marks I would say the FRN variant of the UK Pen Knife. I forgot the variation name they are using but basically a slip folder for around $50 msrp for the UK? What a great tool for a hemisphere of the world with tough regulations.

Sal said recently that some byrd models are in their "2" stages of development.

Wonder what the Cara Cara 2 will look like...

I suspect some of the dosco'd models will be seeing a lot of buzz- never miss them till their gone thing that seems to happen every year.

I'm pumped for anything new in FRN myself, and hopefully a new MJ design!

Looking forward to seeing the Hobbit Warrior. One of my all-time favorite designs.

+1 to that. That thing is RAD. I've always wanted one of the old REKAT versions- I can remember them being "the thing" back in the day.
