To Mongo:

Back in May 2002, RifRaf had posted a pix of Ron Leuschen's LHK model & I knew I had to have one! Loved the use of copper on the handle & asked Ron if he could make me one with a little extra copper. (See attachment.) Great guy to work with; I've got knives #3 & #4 on order from Ron. Since you are the resident vet on B.F.'s, give Ron an e-mail if you can - he's in the 'dumps' after his dog 'Neko' has disappeared! Been about 2 weeks & no encouraging news.

SOG SEAL Pup first, SOG SEAL Pup first, SOG SEAL Pup first(Can't keep getting sidetracked:p )
Kabar
Emerson LaGriffe or CRKT Corkum First Strike
Buck 110
Kershaw Blackout

Hmm...

CRKT Corkum First Strike probably

if not then:
CRKT Carson M18
CRKT Lightfoot M1
CRKT Hawk D.O.G.
CRKT Crawford/Kasper Pro

not sure which CRKT will come first... but the First Strike hits my buttons the most :)

What can I say, the tactical thing is over.

On the list for the year is:
Production:
Robeson wharncliffe
Schatt & Morgan Canoe, stockman, or whittler
Bulldog Viking Whittler
Case Seahorse Whittler (in Jade Green)
TOPS Street Scalpel (hey, you need something to beat the piss out of and not care about, right?)

Custom:
Gene Ingram pocket bowie
Ruple Whittler
2 coffin-handled mini-bowies
and, the ultimate B-day gift for me, and JUST for me:
A DON MORROW SADDLEHORN TRAPPER!

Now, if I can only find a good sheath maker...

Edited to add a Mickey Yurco Mini-claw, Watchpocket Tanto, Koppo in Walnut, and Stinger with hanging rig.

I'm waiting for my damascus LHK from Ron. As for the future, I need a new thrower for the summer, it's gonna be TRU_BALANCE #79.

Well...if Canada Customs doe not release my BM 710HS I will be buying another. After that, considering BM 806D2, Al Mar SERE, Spy. Endura, Police and Military.

Camillus seems to be my current addiction. I already have the Maxx Bowie and Stiletto. My next acquisition will be the Aftermath! :D

I'm trying to figure out how I can afford the 11" OVB Bowie. I want the Dominator too, but that one will have to wait. :(

Need to find a good sheath maker...
For leather, look no further than Kenny Rowe. I have 7 so far from him, each one a truly artistic functional piece of art. I had him make me a couple of slipjoint sheaths that are out of this world. Of course, his fixed blade sheathes allow you to have the options of hand tooling with or without contrasting dyes. You also have a wide range of choices for inlays... alligator, caiman, and water buffalo are the choices I have gone with so far.
For Kydex, there are several good choices: Normark from On Scene Tactical, Mike Sastre and the sleeper... Bob Dozier. He will make sheathes for knives other than his own too.
These are the ones I have had experience with, there are others here that do fine work too: Gary Graley and Lifter come to mind.
Have fun,
Mongo

See the link in my sig for a SEAL Pup. ;)

Mongo,
Do you have any contact info for Mr. Rowe, and perhaps any way I can see some of his work (particularaly the slipjoint sheaths)? Thanks for the suggestion!

Sincerely,
Anthony

Possibly a CRKT Mirage Grey Ghost (a discontinued model) that I showed up in my local knife shop.

Once I get my finances squared away, here is the top of my want list:

-Benchmade 710-01 (If I can find one)
-Benchmade 5000
-CRKT D.O.G.
-Microtech Option II
-Spyderco Carbon Fiber Police
-Spyderco Carbon Fiber Civilian

Instead of the CF Civilian, look into the first run version with the aluminium handles and kraton inserts. They are awesome, and in my opinion better than the CF civilians.

CRKT First Strike is already pre-ordered, so it doesn't count.

I'd like to get my hands on a Strider BT, a Robert Hankins, and many, many more.

BM-43A w/ Spring Latch
OR
Emerson Mini Commander or Small Sebenza.

Can't decide because I want 2 BM's for manipulating 1 in each hand and the 42 and 31 are different sizes and weights which screws me up, same with the 42 and Tachyon. That's why the 43A.

BUT I need a high quality EDC folder type knife for work etc. which I don't have, just this $5 crap knife I found.

I just got my first Spyderco (Gunting) recently, and now have a Gunting trainer as well. I'm looking forward to the availability of a couple of new Spydercos:

-Ronin fixed blade
-ATR folder (with integral Compression lock!)

Also, the recently re-introduced Gryphon M-10 boot knife, since it gets so much good press. However, I already have 2 Camillus CQB-2s which are also designed by Robert Terzuola and look quite similar to the M-10, so I'm not sure if I'll spend the $$$ or be happy with what I already have. If I don't get the M-10, I may get the Spyderco Temperance fixed blade, since this seems like a great all-around knife.
