What will happen to your knives after you die?

I'm glad I have three sons to inherit them cause if my wife sold them, they would go for 10 cents on the dollar like I've been telling her I've paid for them!

LOL, isn't that the truth!

After I pass on, I don't care what happens to them -- I certainly won't need them. I plan to give them away or sell them before then (assuming death by natural causes). Man this is getting morbid.

I use or have used all my knives (I have 36+ knives).
What happens with them after I`m dead?
Hopefully someone will find them useful. if not, well I don`t care anymore when I`m dead;) .

fuck if i know. one thing i learned is you can't predict the human soul. SOme of the most worldly people you know may go and treasure it for teh shear memory. Also, some of the most sentimental people may give them all to the goodwill. Whatever becomes of my possesions, I would rather the people I leave behind remember me, and not what I had.

Some will go to friends and relatives. (some are already designated). Some will go to the A.B.S. museum, some (A.B.S. test daggers) will go to the family of the original maker.

"I hit the Mother Lode of garage sales! Stopped by some old woman's garage sale yesterday and she was selling her husband's knife collection. She had more than 100 knives in all including 25 Spyderco's, 19 Benchmade's, a dozen Schatt & Morgans and nearly 30 handmades.

She was offering them for $3 each or 2 for $5 when I asked her how much she'd take for the entire lot. Without blinking she said $100 would own them all. BOY! Did I get my 'mad money' $100-bill out of it's hiding place in a hurry!!! I figure there must be between $20,000 and $25,000 worth of knives in my once-in-a-lifetime find!

I didn't want to tip her off but I was curious if she had any idea what her husband's knives were actually worth. I said, 'Your husband had a very nice collection of knives' and she replied, 'Yes... about $25,000 worth in all.'

I asked her why she would want to sell her dead husband's collection of knives for only $100 and she said, 'The honery ol' bastard isn't dead- he's at another damned knife show. But he'll have a heart attack when he finds out how much I sold his knife collection for... and he's insured for $1,000,000!!!'"

I'm takin em with me! :p

In all seriousness, I imagine my wife will distribute them evenly amongst my kids and grandkids and friends. At least, that's what I hope she'll do. :)

Hopefully this doesnt come true anytime soon, but i plan on leaving all my knives to my kids and grand children and a couple to good friends that know me for my love of knives. I want all my knives to be used to the fullest and live the live a true knife should :) .

I'll have them twisted into an S shape, laid across my chest, and have my coffin set afire and floated down the Mississippi, where it will hopefully set multiple other objects on fire as it goes.

With that said, my goal is to give away everything I have while I'm still alive and lucid. That way I get to decide who gets what, AND most importantly, I GET THE ENJOYMENT OF DOING THE GIVING. That way it creates the memory of the gift giving in the recipient too. Those things that were given to me are my real treasures, and every time I handle or use one of them I think of the person who gave it to me and the occassion of the gift. I suspect I'm not alone in thinking that way.
No, you're not alone, Mikey. This is exactly how I feel about it, and what I'm expecting to do with my collection. With no children or grandchildren to bequeath them to, and a dear wife who couldn't care about knives unless they're quality kitchen knives, I'll have to give them away in this manner, so that's my plan. :)

I

Did that over the last year and a half. Gave most of my knives and guns to my kids and nephews who wanted. Kept just a few of each to use in my "old age".

Just like all the rest of my crap I leave behind I guess. It isn't my problem. :D

I'll be too dead to care, honestly. But I do want one of my japanese swords buried with me. I will need it to slice of the limbs of those meddling graverobbers, hahaha....

I'll bury a couple of cheapo EDC's in the ground so 1000 years from now some Anthroplogist type can dig them up and do a Thesis paper on our primitive life style and get their undergradute degree.
But other wise I like the idea of giving the heirlooms to a my Children and Grandchildren while I'm alive, and telling them about "back in the day" and making up incredible Kodiak Bear killing story's about my 3" Case Saddle horn ! :D

I plan to never die. :p

What did Julius Caesar do with the knife that was implanted in his back? I've always wondered. :D
