what will knotty eagle superglue???

I don't mean to take the fun out of it, but Loctite does make both superglue and threadlocker, and both use cyanoacrylate as the main chemical compound.

I don't have anything to add but the entire story all in one place deserves a bump. This thread totally made my day. Thanks for a good laugh guys!

Exactly.

I'll quote what I posted in the Kai thread as well:

I have to say that super glue is a legitimate thread locker alternative. I've used it on paintball gun screws, and on one knife screw that was still loosening despite the application of blue Loc-Tite.

Should one glue their knives together? No. However super works as a thread locker when properly applied. Trust me, I'm a geek.

For Knotty's next trick. He shall super glue...SUPER GLUE! Dear lord, no sane man has ever dared attempt such a feat! :D Glad you can roll with the punches Knotty.

No bullshit, there I was... I had to superglue a cup together and as I was doing it, my eyebrow started to itch. I went to scratch it and glued my finger to my eyelid. Luckily, my wife is an optician...so I couldn't tell her what I did. :P I basically ripped my finger away from my eyelid and tore away some skin. She wondered what I did for the next few days, until I could tell her.

super glue, causing physical harm since 1942
i bet super glue caused more bodily harm than guns and knives since 1942

This thread is great and all, but I gotta tell you guys.....back in my day we glued our Kershaws together with Elmer's! :D

Great, here I go. I went to the hardware store (forgot name) and they didn't have any blue or purple loctite, so I got what I thought would be the next best thing, super glue. So I get back home and ask if it'll work the same as loctite, and everyone says no and that I'll regret using it, so I never did. Ever since that happened I've been known as "Mr. Super Glue" (now Monsieur Suppa Glue). Any chance that "they" get, they rip on me about the super glue. I actually laugh most of the time...I can't really say anything else. They also joked about how I should've super glued my Cryo to my hand or pants because lost it when ice fishing (found it later). So there you go...now make a super glue joke!

I read the blurb on the 242 and 243 flavors of blue loctite and they seemed to be for bolts/screws from 1/4" to 3/4" so not really made of the small fasteners in most knives. Instead I got some stuff made by Loctite for guns, and specifically made for pivots called "Uncle Mike's." Seems to be specifically for small screws and bolts with moderate oil/grease contamination.

Will have to try the superglue cut treatment. First load a cotton swab with aloe vera and treat the cut, then close with superglue. Should work. Or not.

reminds me of this

Just think Knotty, if I hadn't given you your name we would not have this audacious thread! You're welcome! :D
