What will you be carrying on 9-11

Glock 21
Surefire E2E
Spyderco Calypso Jr.
Strong sense of pride in my country. If the terrorists intended to inspire fear, they failed. I am not afraid, I'm pissed.

What the hell is wrong with some of you carrying 6+ knives on ya????

No Offense, But your not going to stage a Furious defense against a terrorist with a $hit load of knives.

No, but I'll go down fighting, and he'll (hopefully) know that he met with extreme resistance. :D

Last year I was on base and was carrying some POS folder before it happened and an M14 about 5 min after it happened:(

The reason I carry a shitload of knives (OK, I've only got four -- belay that, five) on me is because I can't carry a shitload of guns. :grumpy: Plus, two of those five are minimal length, one doesn't even lock, and one is on a Leatherman. But a man's gotta have plenty of backup. ;) You never know when you'll have to cut a sh**load of stuff in one day, without having a chance to sharpen. :D

Bottom line is, I added one knife to my EDC list.

AMEN to that! Not to denigrate or lessen the memorial services today, but I'm tired of seeing people mourning. I want to see some people suitably pissed!

AFCK
Mini-AFCK
Spydercard
Wave (laptop bag)
Assault Shaker
P.E.C.K.

Well said, my friend. Well said. The same thought has crossed my mind more than once.

I respect anyone who took time today to mourn, reflect, or be "suitably pissed"- I think I did all three, and believe we should all be allowed to use this day in which ever way is most meaningful for each of us. What I DISLIKE is seeing lots of people who did'nt seem to care one way or the other
Original question, BTW- large Syderco Wegner for work, small Sebenza for lunch, SAK Trailmaster always, & my usual bag of tools, Stanley, Craftsman, Channel pliers, etc.

did a little shopping today, carried my EKI SOCFK green G10 w/black tanto, my bud nealy pesh kebz 5" w/MASS(MAN i like the MASS better than the MCS, for me anyway) sheath, a Kahr P9(in a belly bag, hey its hot down here!), 2 spare mags (federal 124gr hydra shok +P+ in each)and my surefire Z2, and deftec OC, and my nokia cell phone.

sub a glock 32C and 33 .357SIG to the Kahr (loaded w/WW ranger 125 SXT ammo), delete the EKI and nealy, and radio/cuffs/etc/etc, add a crawford ti KFF, and thats what i was wearing that day. of course, was a LEO then, and retired now, so can get away w/going lighter now, thank goodness.

I hadn't thought to carry anything special. It's the old adage - a survival knife is the one you carry when it's needed.
Not guarding the checkpoints here at planet benning (a day off!) I didn't have my issue M9. I just worked on my Cherokee.

Gerber A/F Covert single grind
Inova Keychain light
Ti Citizen ecodrive. All the other stuff is back home. Except the G19C and 1k rounds.

Remember: Use a knife you can afford to lose. Yeah, my floor price keeps going up, too. I'll probably check into a nursing home with my EDC being a Sebenza. Probably the day after my last kid moves out.

AKA The Old Fart.

In many, the resolve to fight terrosism has become a part of their life. Unfortunately for others, paranoia seems to rule their lives.

Altering the way you live to accomodate the paranoia and fear the terrorist attacked provoked, only lets the terrorists succeed. You can be vigilant without being paranoid and imposing unreasonable fear in your coworkers and people on the street.

Should Emergency Search and Rescue personnel be treated differently today because they have a knife in their duty bag? Before it was just a tool that went unnoticed. Now, these same individuals are possible terrorists because they carry the same tools in their efforts to save the lost, sick and, injured. Is a crash axe like the ones commercial aircraft carry a safety tool or a weapon today?

Whether it is a simple box cutter or the largest, evilest, looking knife you can imagine, it all depends on the intent of the individual.

Funny how much you can carry and not look like a recon Marine on patrol. My kit is similar, HK USP-C .45 (230gr FED HS) in a Kramer holster or Galco fanny pack, ASP 21" baton, Nokia cell, Emerson Mini Commander (Green G10!), SureFire C2 or Z6, and Punch OC.

Of course, when the gun, phone, baton, light and OC are in the fanny pack, I could just hit the perp with it and knock him out..

Carried my heart in my hand..........................

...along with Lum Tanto folder, Leatherman Wave, Spydercard & Photon II's.
