  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What will you carry?

If'n I were to limit it to only Becker's and then take it a step further and say only ones I've used, Well then....... I guess a BK9 & a BK14 would work for me or a BK6 & a BK10 or BK7 or BK12 or BK2. I just got a BK4 but haven't used it enough give an opinion.

MY woods setup will one of two ways depending on how i feel that day. phase one will be a machax, my kfu wide blade, and a slip joint that i feel like pocketing that day. OR phase two, which will probably be the go-to phase since i dont need to chop all that often, a bk5, thw wide blade, and a slippie. When the tweeners come out, the may just replace my wide blade, since ethan knows how to make a comfy handle.

I know I can't do a slippie. Those scare the shit out of me from my irresponsible youth . Those tweener handles do look crazy comfy.

BK16, laplander saw and esee candiru....

I also am starting to grow on the idea of carrying a saw. I've been eyeing the super accel and kershaw laplander quite a bit.

I am currently talking to Sky about a sheath for my 9 and 11 combo. SO mine would be a 4, 9, 11, and I like the 15!! I want my MACHAX bad. Sorry had to put that in!!

That combo sheath idea really sounds sweet to me! I've also thought about maybe a molle thigh rig and have all my sheaths molle capable then I can switch them around depending on what I'm doing. And that MACHAX is actually growing on me even though for some weird reason I have always dislike kukris and the like. I'm sure chopping with it would be a dream.

I let my jeep carry the weight most of the time :p.

And why so much love for the 17? Because it looks amazing?

I also think the size is just about perfect. It will replace my Mora for most things I believe.

Ooops my bad on the 17 I was thinking the 15 8). I was thinking the same thing about the 16 being the replacement for my mora. This is my current playing around setup. I hate the recon tanto though for the upswept blade. It makes chopping so uncomfortable and inefficient, and it sucks to sharpen. I am thinking it will be replaced by the 7... maybe the 9... I don't know yet. And I guess a jeep could handle carrying a couple extra knives :D.

The tweeners? I gotta have em all. I will plagiarize Bladites idea for the 15 and replace my steak knifes with. :D
IMO, we need a mirror polished ez-kleen bk5/ MiniMag set for steak and kitchen duties.
I'm getting tired of my Kershaw Chive seeing all the steak time. :(
My setup will be a bk7 on the belt, a Clip tweener in the vest, and a bk11 in the pocket.

Personally I'm thinking a BK-16 an SAK and a 9mm...if they ever finally release the d@mn BK-16s...

The 1, 4, and 9 will fit in the same sheaths that I make, usually. So you kind of get a three for one there.

So rounding all responses gives us BK9, BK16 and BK14 as the all around combo winner. Maybe I will have to change my plan from getting the 7 into the 9. Thanks for sharing everyone.

The 9 is an excellent chopper and splitter IMO, but it lacks finesse. While you really don't get true "finesse" with a 7, it's a jack of all trades knife. Does all things good enough to get you by, but does no one thing very well. The 9, 16, and 14 combo is a very good one, you have all the bases covered with it.My 2c
