What will you take to the grave?

Undoubtedly, we all die, so we have to make the best of it while we are still alive.
I have had the pleasure of talking with many folks on here, all of which have brought out a new perspective on how i look at things now. Question is, when we make the voyage to the other side, any religion you may be, whatever beliefs you have, what knife would you bring with you to cross the river?

I know for me, a knife is much more than just a cutting instrument; When i hold a knife, i feel what my ancestors may have felt when they relied on their obsidian flaked tools to butcher a felled mastodon to survive. My knife gives me confidence and is always with me, despite all the people that come and go in my life.

please tell me of your perspective on this matter.

When I pass over into the great beyond I'm gonna be cremated so I'm not takin' anythin' with me but I will make one exception, I'm takin' my Case Swayback Jack in CV with Chestnut Bone scales given to me by a member of our Forums, Thanks Ed, this puppy hasn't left my pocket yet. :)

When I think about it, a Buck 301 might do the trick. Something that won't take away anything from the wife and kids as far as the knife collection goes, still can be bought almost anywhere, and is built to get dirty and still work years later for someone else that might find it ,after they dig up my plot to plant, build on or pave over. That is if the undertaker doesn't take it first. :D

On second thought they should plant me, the way I entered this world, Naked! :D:D:D

My old boss actually WAS buried with a Case Trapper that I bought him in 2005. He died in 2010 but took it with him cause he never left home with out it. Course, he was also buried with a can of snuff.....:D And no...I haven't dug him up and taken his knife...yet! ( it IS stainless!)

Hopefully, whatever is in my pocket when the time comes.... it'll be traditional, I can tell you that.

Im not sure which specific one, but I want to be burried like a viking, set out of sea on a burning ship, so probably all of them.

Lol you better get on it before someone else does

For me, it will be what I'm not taking to the grave with me....maybe it's twisted, but that's just me.

I want all the screws, plates and bolts the Army put in me to be taken out and made into a "trophy" to put on a shelf for my kids and grandkids.

The way I figure it, it will be a better memento than an ashtray, drawer or piece of lawn. Helluva conversation piece, isn't it?

I told my wife to cremate me and scatter my ashes on the side of road on the way home. Not taking a knife with me. Hopefully I'll have used them all up by then.

My spyderco native and my lock back that my grandfather gave me.
Oh and the survival knife my dad gave me.

Comon guys you have to carrey something in order to prepare of Ragnarok theres not enough in Vallhal for everyone!!!! lol

My oldest son says he's going to load me up in my Forester, with all my knives etc and bury the whole thing! Good kid!

just an old opinel for me - someone else might as well make use of my otherstuff when I'm gone

I'm in the cremate and scatter camp. I don't plan on taking anything with me. Once I'm dead none of this stuff matters to me. I don't have any kids or grandkids so there's no one to inherit my legacy. If I have some knives or any other personal effects that are of some finanacial value I will hope that my wife will sell them for a good price and live out the rest of her life in happiness and health.

My Case Sowbelly for sure. I absolutely love that knife. It was with me during my two week wedding adventure in Maui and various other adventures that will always be my most favorite memories.

In case they make a mistake , maybe a knife with a shovel would come in handy. Jus sayin. :D

Can I be vacuum-hardened like my knife?! :D

My Case XX 11031SH. I bought it in 1978 and carried all through high school, college, and all the jobs since. I've bought one for all my kids and grandkids so they can remember me. With the exception of my Randall 8-4, it will stay with my wife, I told her to sell the rest and take a great vacation and raise a glass to my memory...
