What will you take to the grave?

No knife in my grave. I won't need one. Instead, before I cross the river, I will give them all away to people who will appreciate them.

If I get the two-minute warning, I'm going to light the house. Cremation in place along with all my crap so no one has to sort through it after I'm gone.

This is my plan as well. I hope that my knives will bring back to memories to those that will receive them after or before I'm gone

When my father died i loaded a goodly amount of his ashes into 12 gauge ammo..these were distributed to his closest friends whom he hunted with..On opening morning the first duck shot was with this ammo..Although highly illegal my father had no problems shooting a duck on the water (the first ones for the pot boy!!).... ..FES

I've actually given that some thought too. Not crazy about somebody raiding 'my stuff' after I'm gone, so I might just take it all with me. :D

Assuming there's a knife in my pocket when I go, I'm betting it'll be my Schrade USA 8OT. That one has just felt 'right' in all aspects (comfortable, best slicer I own, easy to maintain), ever since I dropped it in my pocket for the first time. It has become a part of me, and I think I'd feel less than whole without it.

Ya know it just dawned on me, I think the TSA might be confiscation' knives as ya pass through the heavenly security gates, now if you're goin' to HE double hockey sticks I'm sure they'll let ya take whatever ya want.

You have it backwards. ;)

After I die my hope is there is a posting here something like this:
"My grandpa just died and while going through his stuff, I found this neat collection of old knives. Can anyone tell me about them. I don't care about values, because I don't intend on selling them."

I used to think the same thing, now my wife has the password to my account here and struck directions on who to get in touch with here on the forums to get rid of my collection to after pickin' it their favorites, so keep your eyes peeled for the Ted' s dead thread, 'cause right after that there's gonna be one helluva sale.

Can we have a practice Ted's Dead Thread before then, if only because it's such a great name?

I want to carry my first slip joint and my first fixed blade that I made, they are relatively ugly and plain but were the ones that got me started on this jouney that I love.Probab ly give a bunch away and let the grandkids hock the rest.Or they can keep a few to remember me by.

I will go knife-less as I follow the Ash hole method myself. My ashes poured off a boat dock into the lake I worked at for 28 years. My Cherokee friend will blow smoke to the four winds and throw me in. I always wanted a Native American car tag. But my old War of Independance Cherokee blood was way too thin by the time I came around. My only Nephew is already counting on two old shotguns and the knives......I may surprise him........300

This one is going into the drink when I'm buried at sea. It's done by cremation now - so I'll have my son stir the ashes just to make sure the knife is still in the urn when it goes out to a Squadron. I have many knives and guns of all of types which will go to my heirs ... but this is my knife (the only one I've ever bothered to engrave) and it's going with me.

I really don't have an answer for this. But, I'm reading with interest...

Or maybe even an Ed's Dead Thread...

Ted's got more knives than I have though. I'd expect we'd have more fun with Ted's Thread.

I won't be taking one with me. Told my daughter I would like to be cremated, but also told her to do whatever she wanted since I'll never know the deference.

I figure at 52, if that's middle age you'll be readin' the Ted the Dead Head's Dead and said buy my knives thread.

I should throw more recent pics up, anticipation's a killer ain't it?
