What would be a better buy?

Hello all.

I have the opportunity to pick up an old discontinued Benchmade. I'm looking at either a mini-skirmish or full size skirmish. Both are LNIB but they have been slightly used. Both still haven't completely worn in as the lockbar is still a little sticky and the Ti scales have no scratches. In fact now that I think about it the Full size might be nib but I am unsure and could always ask. Now I will say I plan to carry the knife but the size of the blade isn't a huge concern mainly because I will only carry it on occasion. I mainly want this knife for the looks and rarity of the knife. So should I pick up the full size that is double the price of the mini or should I snag the mini for what seems to be a decent price. I like them both a lot and they both are great in hand. So my question: Is the full size worth double the price for the mini TO YOU? And why you would choose the one you choose.

Thanks for the input!

If the large one is so big, for you, that you won't use or carry it then get the small one. Otherwise, I prefer larger folders so I'd get the large.
Best of luck.

Agreed. "Better buy" is a subjective term. What you need to ask yourself is "what is the better buy for ME?"

As Lefty said, if you are going to carry it and the larger blade is just too big for your needs, then the small one is probably the "better buy." However, if the knife is going to sit in a collection with the hopes of selling at a profit in the future, then the one in BETTER OVERALL CONDITION is the better buy.

Carrying a "rare find" will also dilute the overall "worth" of a blade [outside what it's 'worth' to you]. Also, carrying and losing a "rare" blade is going to put a cramp in what you think when you ponder that purchase in hindsight.

Like I said....it's subjective.

i think so , subjective :D

Yeah I knew it was all going to come down to what I would want to buy a Benchmade Skirmish for, but it's still be good to hear another person's opinion on which one they would buy.
