What would be the odds of getting a FBM with a double-cut finish?

I would think snakeskin with double-cut would look awesome. And in the "reg'ler" thickness. No need for .32".

Before I got pester the good Busse folk, I thought I'd toss it out here and see if anyone knew if it was "possible" to do.

Thx.

Lemme know! Pester away!! LOL I want one, too. :D

DCBB with snakeskin would look awesome, I agree! If they make one with that combo then I'll take one:D

I don't think that you could order it like that (except maybe as a custom), but I still would not be surprised to see something like that from an extravaganzaaaaa.

I think your chances are slim to none, unless you want to pay for a full custom knife.

yup, if it was an option, they would have put it as such. So you will most likely pay $100 per inch or more for that slight change. You are almost better off doing it yourself or have leatherman put pants on it and I heard he does a mean Double cut.

There is maybe a slim chance you could buy a FBM LE and pay to have it double cut by Busse.

 Pure insanity I tell you!

Why? Why? Why?

I didn't say I wanted to do it to one, I was just making a possible suggestion to Dennis in MA as maybe a cheaper way to get a double cut finish than getting a full custom! Boy, you guys are touchy lately!!!

I still love you:) :)

Oh well. My other thought was pestering Leatherman and get some sheathability while I was at it.

Is any of the colors of finish easier to remove than another? I know the tan is the most durable. What's hte easiest - or is that even an issue?

What you have to remember is if you take a regular FBM and strip it, it will have the corragated machined lines on the sides, if you just want to have that knife bead blasted after it was stripped of the finish, it won't be hard to do. But if you want a true double cut finish, the sides would have to have the corragated lines ground off (that is why I suggested to start with the "LE" version), put on a satin finish, then bead blasted.

Man, good thing, I thought everyone was hating me and I would have to give away all my INFI!!!

Always remember this......."I got your back"..........Amy-0 Luvs ya!!!!!!!!! Everyone Quit picking on Randucci..............cause I said so :) :)

It's OK Porkducci... It wasn't directed at you, and I didn't think you would do it (especially after the bloody stump warden :D )... It was just more of a general statement of... WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND kinda thing. ;)

Question from the newbie in the back of the classroom....

What is a double-cut finish?

Double cut finish is like that in the toothy smog warden or the black micarta warden... it referes to the process of bead blasting. Once with an agressive abraisive and the second (ie double) to peen out the marks of the agressive abraisive. Make sense??? There was a thread about this once... can't seem to find it though.
