Mine: A Spyderco Sage with an Axis lock. I love the Axis, but don't like most of BM's lineup. I have the Presidio, which has super smooth deployment, zero blade play, but it's a bit thick through the handle for an EDC.

Take the sleek proportions and awesome ergos of a Sage, Endura, or Caly with an Axis lock, and you'd have a hit.

I wish Benchmade would go back to the drawing board with some slimmer designs with better ergonomics. That's just my humble opinion, feel free to pile on if you disagree!:D

3mptin3ss, I was not aware that the Manix had an Axis-like lock. One reason I love the Axis is that I'm a lefty and it's ambidextrous.

How's the deployment on the Manix?

its very smooth to open but a little tougher to close than an axis lock. the ball lock on the manix2 seems way stronger and sturdier than the axis though.

there is also a more expensive carbon fiber/flat grind version that is even more similar to what you are asking for i think

A Sebenza 21 with a Spyderhole, plain Ti handle face, an ambidextrous locking system (Axis, Ball-bearing, lockback), copper lining in the Spyderhole like Kershaw does their laminated blades, micarta handle scale on what would normally be frame lock side.

A Spyderco flipper would be pretty cool. Combine it with the Hawk-Lock and some G & G Design cues and I'd never carry anything else.

I'd like to see a very slim slipjoint with a premium stainless steel blade about 3 inches in length.

(And I mean a true slipjoint, not a Spyderco Slipit.)

A left handed millie.....o wait , they make one :)

Mine arrived yesterday and I know it will be a long time before it leaves my pocket. Maybe a LH millie with Ti/carbon fiber, M4 steel without the distal taper. Like liner and framelocks myself, not much of a fan of the axis type.

Flipper opening with axis lock. Best of both worlds. Super fast opening and smooth one handed FAST closing.

Emerson CQC-7 with jimping, framelock or lockback, v-grind blade

Emerson CQC-11 with a frame lock or lockback

Spyderco Military with a frame lock or lockback , and 4-way clip (might get to see that one)

Take a look at the SOG Vulcan series, they have a flipper and an arc-lock, which is basically the same as the Axis lock:)

I like my recent Snody designed Benchmade purchases. The 420 Resistor is nice - but I can watch the Al frame's anodized finish wear as I gaze at it. The 425/426 Gravitators Ti would be better - but keep the 420's AXIS lock. While you are at it, S30V is my favorite blade metal...

Yeah, I know - these are '04/'05 introductions - and long gone from most B-M dealers. My local shop had some old stock - which I 'just' discovered. I guess I missed a few years of B-Ms...

If the Emerson CQC 10 were a frame lock and wasn't a chisel grind it would be the perfect knife.

3.5" ti framelock, tip up, dark low ride clip---that would be the perfect knife. I have high hopes for the upcoming frame lock Military, even though it's a bit long and I'm going to have to move the clip myself.

Kershaw Skyline with framelock / axislock with Tungsten DLC coated blade made out of S30V or VG-10

Queen has D2 steel in many of their knives.

Had one and the arc-lock fell apart after 3 weeks of use. I still have 2 other SOGs, but you won't see me buying any more.
