  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What would make you leave home?

Almost forgot one scenario. If Rick (Magnussen) shows up at my front door, I'm buggin' out the back door. That guy scares me :o.

:D

Ah h#ll, Rick ain't that bad. Just don't flirt with his wife, scare his kids, touch his drums, pick on his hair cut, or rearrange his tools and all should be ok...oh yeah and don't try to stare him down...he might take that as a challenge or something....

.

same here brother...:thumbup: no matter what the situation may be, if the family is in danger, were Bugging Out... we have plent of gear ready to grab and go...:)

:thumbup::cool:

Yeah it could be anything. Stuff that I could handle myself, if their is any doubt about my wife and kids safety....were gone. :thumbup:

I've been reading about all the SHTF scenarios and thinking what would have to happen to make me leave the comfort of my home, I do live about 20miles from a army depot where they dispose of chemical weapons and if they had an accident I would have to evacuate, but what other instance's would make you have to pack it up and hit the road, and where would you go?

If I thought marshal law was about to be declared/ epidemic with a 10% or higher kill rate/ complete economic breakdown with failure of utilities, food shortages/ EMP/ massive solar flare, knocking out the national power grid/ invasion by foreign army/ nuclear war : but that would be a tough call as to where depending on how much info i was able to gather about where strikes occurred and where fallout was heading; assuming a limited exchange. But an all out strike from either russia or china i figure would saturate the whole lower 48, in which case i reckon I'd just make sure i always had one bullet left. And I'm sure many other possible doomsday scenarios I haven't thought of.
Where: except for fallout which would dictate where I went : rocky mountains If i had time to make it there. If not, some large national forest to get as far away from people and civilization as possible where I'd have a chance to sustain myself thru hunting and gathering after my supplies ran out, which supplies tend to do. I try and keep what I call a bug-out-bag ready to go at all times. Not because i think something is going to happen; but i don't believe anybody is going to break into my house nonetheless I keep a loaded gun in my home...just in case.

I'd pack up if I lived in a country that spent MY MONEY on such nonsense to begin with.
I'm already here.:cool:

The question that is more prominent in my mind is how slow would I be willing to move in order that I could protect and save loved ones? People that may or may not be in good shape, either mentally or physically, not have their own supplies etc. I guess it's our job to help prepare those types for situations that may arise, but in my experience not all of them are as serious about it as we may be.

For me, virus out break, invasion, and natural disaster, One thing I've been trying to find out is what the train carry's through town here, depending, that might make me leave too.

Have to say, I wouldn't mind it much, much more confident in the sticks anyways, so is the family. Considering I spent my younger years hunting for sustance, its like being home for me.
