You come home to every knife you own stolen. And your going to have to start your collection from scratch. What is going to be the first knife your going to buy?
Come to think of it, I almost wish someone would take all my knives...

6 years ago this was my exact case, I'm actually trying to not get too worked up as I type this considering I know who did it I just can't prove it.
A friend of mine was getting ready to move into his new house and asked if I would like to move in too. I gladly accepted, he was and still is a long time friend and I wanted to be back on my own so I really didn't have any worries.
2 weeks after we moved in I had gotten off work early, stopped at the store to get a few things for dinner and continued on my way home. Everything seemed normal when I pulled up but once I reached the back gate my heart sank to my toes. The sliding door was wide open and the blinds were all torn up like a wild animal got a hold of them. My thought process may have not been the best at this time but I made the decision to search the house. I pulled what I would soon learn to be my only knife and entered the back door, the house had been flipped upside down and looked like a seen out of a movie. I quickly and quietly searched the house hoping for some poor bastid to still be there but all I found was our cat hiding up stairs visible disturbed from the days events.
I lost about 70 knives that day including a Camillus ka-bar given to me by a vet, my dads SAK he had given me and many other knives that could never be replaced or just had too high of a personal value to ever be the same if replaced.
Their was a slightly funny part to that day though, and one I won't soon forget, when giving my story to the police the officer asked to see my knife. A little worried because the Emerson CQC-8 is a intimidating blade I slowly pulled it from my pocket and handed it to the officer. Expecting a ear full of why am I carrying such a knife, his only comment was "yep, that would have done the job" while looking it over with what seemed like a bit of jealously.
They didn't take any of my sharpening stones so I guess I was lucky for at least that.
Before I just collected what I liked, now I go for quality and performance. I'm not exactly sure what my first purchase was because I bought a few but IIRC it was a EKI Commander.
Never take for granted living in a "quiet" area, keep'em locked-up and hidden, you never know when the wolf will come peering through your window.
