I'd take it home, reprofile it on my belt sander, sharpen it and polish it.
Scagel would be honest and do what T.Erdelyi would do. Although we don't share the same opinion on this T.Erdelyi, I commend your honesty. You are a better person for that.
Oh, I'm no saint, I bought a 1971 Norton Combat Commando for $500, (original price was $2,000) because the guy I bought it from was gettin' divorced and was gettin' rid of everything he owned and was gonna take off before his wife put a hold on his assets, well anyway this guys sister tells me the story and tells me he'd take anything for the bike, he just wanted to leave that night.
I pulled out the $500 told him it was all I had in cash, if he wanted more he'd have to wait till I could go to the bank in the mornin', (ATMs were rare back then), he grabbed the money and signed the title jumped in his car and was gone, his sister helped me load the bike.
Does anyone here own a Scagel, folder or fixed blade?

Nice. I've owned Triumphs over the years so I have a deep appreciation for Nortons. They're "traditional" British motorcycles ,to keep it on topic![]()
Nice try.
I carried a Schrade Old Timer 2 Bladed Trapper in saw cut Delrin in the glove box of the Bike, (does that help?) I paid retail for it back in '79 which came to about $20 back in the day.
I've never owned a real Scagle, but once found a 1953 vintage Morseth at a flea market. Wish I had kept that knife!
