I have a 2HP motor, in fact I got two (for 100$) and put one on my grinder already so I was wondering what others would do with a spare 2HP motor (1750RPM).

make a second grinder so you can have 2 different grits set up at all times?

Give it to me so that I could have a grinder!!! seriously, if you don't want another grinder, a spare 2HP motor is a bit of overkill for anything else.

Disc grinder, Buffer, Spare parts, sell it to get money to buy other stuff, be geeks angle of mercy and give it to him as long as he promises to bow in your direction at 4:32pm every other Tuesday and give thanks to your greatness:p

What would I do...probably let it gather dust like the few spare motors already around the shop. What could you do...

Air compressor if you can get a pump and a tank cheap, really big fan for the summer, rotisserie for roasting a moose or ox...

I'd build another grinder.

Sorry, had to say it. Ummm... take some shafting, pillow blocks, and a couple pulleys and make a nice buffer? Put it on a 50# Little Giant?

It's a bit small to make a press with, maybe trade up for a 3-5 hp motor and build a press?

Whatever you do, DON'T hook it up to an old fashion treadle wheel sharpening/grinding stone. Someone around these parts did something like that and had the darn thing explode!
