What would you do with this?

That turned out real good!, I bet you are glad you took the move to do the sharpening option!
How did you start? could you take us through the process? thanks very much!

I agree with Duncan - the restaurating / reprofiling process would be pretty interessting :)

Not all that interesting. I used my old Wen Wet Wheel grinder to take the edge down flat and straight until the chip was almost gone, then to cut rough bevels on both sides. When I had it down to a narrow shiny strip I switched to a DMT extra coarse bench stone until the bevels met. By the time I'd gone through the coarse and fine DMT's, the tiny bit of the chip I'd left was gone, and the edge was sharp enough to take a sliver out of my fingertip through 8 layers of paper towel while I was wiping down the blade with oil.

It looks great, Jack. Even better than I would've assumed; didn't seem to take as much of the edge away as I'd thought it would.

Nice work.

Looks great. I would have made it serrated I don't care for serrated blades myself but my sons like em. And what the hey, it would be rare then I never even heard of a serrated Barlow before you might have had the only one. Guess it's up to me now I got an old Barlow around here somewhere with a chink in it too....
